  • All properly caught up now....

MrsDrink - that is a very nice cookie cone, will you be posting a picture of the green one? Bet its going to look great, really Christmassy. I've never seen or hard of these before.

ShonaM - they are lovely earrings.

I have started saving any jars we use instead of putting them in the recycling . OH thinks I'm crazy but have decided that I really enjoy all this crafting and so they could come in handy for birthdays or other times through the year.
Very excited that today I get to pop in a poundshop and a home bargins. Fingers crossed for candy canes and mini marshmallows-but nothing else! cos I must not be tempted to draw money out of the bank :rotfl:

  • I've just been onto the Cardiff website to see when the Winter Wonderland opens this year. I've been taken DD2 for a few years but this year will be DD1's first time. She's only in school afternoon's at the moment - she's 4, so will take her in the morning. They open on 22 November until 3 January 2012 so was thinking of taking her on a Monday morning - shouldn't be too busy then.
  • Thanks its OK will just have to keep checking, maybe they haven't put them out yet in ours...... my mum can knit.

i've found these which are about £3 for the pattern..

Oooo, I got some bits in wilkos the other day. A christmas activity book and a canvas of santa for DD to paint. They had a lovely little section and quite cheap too I thought :D

  • Hello! Can I join in? Things are a little tight this year so I'm starting now on Christmas to give us a head start.

One of the things I've decided to do this year is make those big freestanding paper mache letters to add into our nieces presents - have to admit I didn't realise paper mache was so time consuming! I've made two but have loads to go :p

And I've dried out our chilli crop from earlier to make some chilli oil gifts.

As we have a large number of nieces and nephews, I was going to make 'pamper night in' bags for the girls with face packs, smellies and make up for them. Not sure what for the boys though who are at uni - perhaps a hangover kit?! Any suggestions?

And I'm definitely making snowman soup!! :)

Welcome Rosie - your ideas sound great. I've never tried paper mache - make sure you post some pictures so we can envy you.

What about some chilli vodka for the boys - am sure it would go down well and would use some of the chilli crop! I'm making DD's (also both at uni) some Skittle and Toffee vodka each as one of their presents. Ooh look at me, only joining the thread a couple of days ago and already offering advice :)
  • Crowdpleaser - great ideas - thank you! I toyed witht he idea of making some chilli vodka with the left over chillis to make up a kind of russian roulette shot game but don't want to be seen to be promoting drinking if oyu see what I mean!!

Ellie9ellie - well it sounds great but who knows how they'll turn out!! I think they may be too bumpy if you know what I mean and I don't want them to look rubbish :( OH's nieces and nephews are quite well off so I don't want them to think they look silly!
  • Amanda65 - Woah! Great minds and all that!! I think chilli vodka is a great idea. What bottles do you use? Do you reuse the vodka bottle and just take off the label?
