:rotfl: December 25th :: Start browsing for sale presents for next Christmas

    and so on :rotfl:

I've never actually started that early before, And now because of how well i've managed to do this year since springish time, I wish i had started in the january sales! So as mad as some people may think it is, I'm definitely going to try putting bits away from january next year .

Thought I could smell pine needles this morning! Made me think I'd really like a real tree this year (especailly as its my turn to have Xmas off this year, nursing) . Not very money saving though. I bought a fake one about 6 years ago for about £20 so I've really had my moneys worth out of it. Perhaps I could buy a real one this year and then get a good fake one in the sales after for the next 6 years!!!

This is probably going to make some of you think I'm crazy, but I really , really, really don't like real tree's :o
My logic is a bit daft because my reason is that to me I don't think they look real. A christmas tree to me should look perfect and in shape etc etc, and real ones seem to be patchy and ... I don't know how to explain it so I think it's best that I just stop rambling :rotfl:
Especially since most of you have expressed a real liking for real tree's - Please don't hunt me down with flaming torches! :o

Honestly I walk past the store 3 times a week, To save you the petrol and parking I don't mind buying it and sending it up to you - may even be able to discount the packing if I can wangle something in work ;)

What a lovely thing to offer :)
Honestly, all the kindness on this thread has given me back some faith that people aren't all bad and the world isn't going to pot!

Phew just got through reading the posts since I was last on :rotfl::rotfl: Damsel In Distress I didn't know the Bolton store was a warehouse one, but I do love the new place, so big and lots of bargains plus room to move yay !! :j:j

I don't know if the new one is classed as a wear house, I presume so as didn't they just move from the old location to the new one? The old one definitely was, It distributed to other local b&m's, such as my local which is a fairly large one anyway to be honest. The bolton one is my fav though. They seem to have such great things that even mine doesn't have. And on occasion I've noticed that things are actually cheaper there. I don't go often because it's a half hour bus journey and I can't be bothered haha!

Sorry for the long post everyone, I had 10 pages to catch up on just since yesterday! So can you all please stop nattering whilst i am away! :D

Got another great bargain today that DS had previously asked for and got told a firm no because it was £37.99!
I nipped to tesco to get some bits for over the weekend and they had it in the clearance bin because the box has a teeny tiny hole in it, It was £7.50!!! So I'm really really really ecstatic about it, He will be so happy when he see's it.

I can't remember who posted it but that grinch key ring is fab, I want one!

Also before I shut up (You can all breath a sigh of relief!) If anyone see's the rudolph scene it game in any home bargains/quality saves in the manchester or bolton area could you please let me know? They don't have it in mine but it's only very small and I don't want to spend money on a bus ticket just yet in case no where in manchester/bolton doesn't have it out yet either, It would just be a fiver down the pan for no reason :o
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

    I've been Money Tipped!

I also bought a Christmas oven glove the other day - I couldn't help myself! It was from an independent pound shop so was cheap as chips (but is apparently made to the correct industry safety standard) - my OH just rolled his eyes! I know you'll all appreciate it though. :D

    this made me laugh!
dh was exactly the same with my 'santa is coming to Hull' book, so when my mum popped around later on in the day i showed her!
we then sat for quite a while gushing how great it is and pointing at all the landmarks and area names etc lol
and thats without us comparing our christmas notebooks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
my mum always gets it, and if for any reason she doesnt (although thats yet to happen!) i have you lot too :D

  • Every year I buy the girls Xmas pyjamas. I've got DD2's from the 3 for 2 in Boots but haven' got DD1 yet (she's nearly 8). Has anyone seen any good Xmas pyjamas for an 8 year old girl?
  • Does anyone do NORAD on Christmas Eve? We found this years ago and it's the highlight of my girls Xmas Eve. Every 30 mins they check to see where in the world Santa is :D

Own my own I love your vintage angel lovely! And lala I love the ideas of different themes in each room! I think I'm trying to strike a balance between shabby chic/ vintage and Scandinavian style but I may add some homemade bits my son makes too I can't wait to get the bit out he made last year!
I'm also planning on adding lots of natural bit in the mix like pine cones dried orange slices cranberries and holly but I think that will be mainly on the table. This is the first time I'm cooking Xmas dinner as dh is working all Christmas (fireman) but has managed to get Christmas day off so instead of travelling anywhere people are coming to our little house in a way kind of looking forward to be at home (finding additional tables and chairs to accommodate also remind me of Christmases at my house when there were far more people than chairs!)
For my elderly neighbours I usually make them a mini hamper in a gift bag mini gingerbread men and homemade fudge but think I will extend this to include a snowman soup this year.
I'm in the south east anddoubt very much we will have a white Christmas but it would be amazing if we did!
Reading in a magazine places to visit for Christmas has anyone been to chatsworth at Christmas? Other recommendations were Edinburgh Lincoln and Ludlow in case anyone has been there?
