Thanks for all your lovely comments
.
Me and Ds's dad are perfectly civil to each other and still talk occasionally on the phone, and if I asked him to spend xmas with us i know he would, but i dont think that is a good idea, for me or for ds. We need to start as we mean to go on and one day his father may have a new partner and if ds got used to him spending xmas with us then to have it suddenly taken away due to a new relationship, i think things would only work out worse in the end. And if im being honest, i think id struggle having his dad here. I didn't particularly want us to break up if im being honest. He has had a breakdown which unfortunately had a terrible effect on our relationship and his behaviour but i did still love him very much and having him around would only make me feel worse i think.
With reguards to bents, I just LOVE it at christmas. I've been going since i was around 11 with my parents and now i still go with my mum at christmas. It's beautiful to look at and the decorations are amazing, but also fairly over priced. I have the odd bits and bobs from there but i find im generally good at finding things that are an almost exact replica ,if not the same thing from elsewhere at a cheaper price.
If you keep you're eye out it can easily be done. Unfortunately i don't think i have the same amazing decorating skills as the people who decorate their tree's but I'm a pro and hunting down the same decorations :rotfl:Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

I usually do the front room and hallway plus a few ornaments in the kitchen and DS has some wall/ceiling decorations and a little tree in his room. I want to go all out this year and cover everywhere (except the bathroom maybe lol. Although I do have a santa toilet seat cover somewhere!) x
Most of our decorations are usually in the living room (real tree), and the dining room (fake white tree). But since we eat Christmas dinner in the conservatory and it always feels a bit plain in there, this year I want to tinsel the sh** out of it.
Oh and we always put lots of fairy lights in the kitchen (inspired by Nigella I think!) I do always feel a bit sorry for all the other rooms that don't really get decorated, like the bathrooms, so I at least put a random bauble in there. And this year I've bought Xmas toilet paper!:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -

Ive seen the penguin onesie in Primark and it is lovely. I really want to get DS one but nowhere has his size except for Primark who had an awesome dragon (or something similar) one but it was a really thick soft one and DS overheats really easily so needs to be thin. Asda supposedly does his size but none in stock at ours.
Totally agree about helping others less fortunate, we have always been pretty skint (OH had just been made redundant when I met him 9 years ago so skint from the start lol) but I do what I can. Some ideas are:
Shoeboxes
Postpals elf/reindeer www.postpals.co.uk
The christmas appeal in asda
NSPCC Santa letter
Food bank (put £5 or so worth of food in)
Give to homeless (Last year when we went to see the reindeers in maidenhead there was a homeless guy and I so wanted to at least get him a hot drink, something to eat and a few pounds but I was so shy and unsure of how he'd react but this year Im just going to do it as I felt so bad.)
Then obviously the usual donate to school fete, bake cakes etc.
Hope you feel better soon chirpychick. x
We have the dinosaur onesie from primarni and it is amazing :T have you looked in H and M they have footles onesie made of jersey rather than fleece in a number of different styles
Ordered starwars Lego yesterday from amazon as even though Smyths had 20 % off Star Wars Lego amazon was still cheaper. My elder son is really into dragons so trying to find the dragonology game for a decent price but its proving difficult'we don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing'0 -
Successful foray into town today. Wilkcos have got chocolate coins on BOGOF so bought a load. Then a box of soldiers for £4 which I'm splitting between 2 small boys. Teddy from £land to go into ds's girlfriends box, need to get some shower gel from Lush but their Christmas stocks not out yet.
Wanted to get my best friends charm but their gift receipt doesn't last til Christmas yet and I'm not 100 % if she hasn't already got it.
Thorntons had boxes of chocs half price. Got some smellies for Godson and dd's boyfriend at reduced price in Superd*** so all in all good bargain hunting!
Have looked up the snowman soup and am so excited to make them. Found the mini marshmallows so if I can keep myself from dipping into them I should be nearly ready to go. Quick question, do you make the cones out of cellophane or is there a cheap source for them? Going to dip spoons in choc too!
Right looking on line now for more bargains. This year I WILL be ready and organised and not wrapping on Christmas Eve2015 £2 Saver #82
SPC #323 £66 (2014)
Pay All your Debt off by Xmas 2015 #104
Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves0 -

Evening All,
Looks like I have loads to catch up on. It's only been 12 hours:rotfl:
Will have a look later.
Well what a day.
Bootsale went well, but it was freezing. The wind picked up and was bitter.
Then took DD (who was feeling better) to her football match, and went into town shopping .(more on that later.)
Just walking out of Marks when I got a phone call from DDs football manager, saying she had fallen badly, while being tackled.
Have just got in from A&E . Our A&E has no xray, out of hours. So had a 40 mile round trip to next town.
Not broken, just badly sprained So just rest, ice and crushes needed.
I always panic when either of them fall over , as they both have weak joints, and have had some nasty injuries in the past.
But this hasn't stopped either of them being sport mad.
So no real harm done.:j
Back to my Christmas shopping. It felt very unchristmassy.:(
I know it is only October tomorrow, but I think because I was doing Xmas shopping I kind of expect something different.
The book sets aren't in at WHS yet, neither is the calendar I want in The Card Factory.(only need this to technically finish)
New Look have nothing in at all yet.
On a brighter note I got Dd a lovely Paul Frank tote bag, and some over knee socks.
I am really after some wellie socks for under the Hunters I have got her. I am not going to bother with the real socks,as they are £25. The wellies only cost me £42 on a grabbit.
Saw some in Boots, 2 pairs for £12, that were really lovely, but I can't think of another 2 gifts I want in there.:( Will have another look at on-line cat in the week.
I may pop back in tomorrow as I am not at work . I have a hospital app about my kidney stones and newly found atopic kidney, at 10, so could have a look after that.
Well thats enough of my goings on for one day.:rotfl:
Am going to have a coffee and a bath.0 -

I just thought I might make the white door of my electric cupbaord in the communal hallway into a snowman. :rotfl:

I got a santa toilet seat cover from poundland last year! I was shocked at the quality as it was superb! It had a bell on the hat and is lovely and thick. I love it, It just adds that extra bit of christmas in a room that never see's any
Sort of like this but without the bathmat extra and actually looks better in my opinion
