Otherwise how about something fun with the pocket one you have, what it she into? maybe we can get some ideas together as to what you could put in that that don't cost much and isnt sweeties!
ps how about putting a note in each one tied with a ribbon, with something nice you will do together each day, like 'watch Polar Express' 'make hot chocolate' 'make cheese straws' (insert as appropriate!)
I'll have a look at the Silent Night one, it could go in the fireplace (gas is capped). I love those ideas but I'd have to be careful as most school nights we wouldn't be able to do more than make a hot chocolate what with homework and swimming, brownies etc. I need to think of quick, easy ideas.0 -
thankyou! its nice to see what everyone does when they dont have to shop! really inspiring and making me definately want to get it done early! we are actuallygoing to centreparcs from 17th-21st december so defo needs doing i think!
oh I bet Centreparcs will be lovely at Christmas! it will be all lovely and decorated, am sure you will have a lovely time!:T
I do enjoy being sorted early as it also means when stuff gets delayed like the Rudolph Monopoly I don't get stressed! (mind you if I get stressed about Rudolph Monopoly you can throw something at me!!) and also I can always get the things I want, whereas sometimes in December stuff might be sold out or on delay or caught up in the post.
That's another thing we will be doing in December ...Rudolph Monopoly!! and also making stuff like the Rudolph cupcakes and gingerbread men ( there's piccies a few pages back)0 -

am sure you will love it! my DD was sat in the garden in the sun in July reading it!sometimes I find her writing quite old fashioned but it is so lovely in this book and there is so much about the build up, the day, the baking, decorations, gifts, it's gorgeous!
Sounds ace. I love Christmassy books, but they do often miss the fun stuff out (decorating etc).:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -

I know, I often feel it's a bit crazy, I seem to be at school as much as them in December! This year is the first and only year that they'll both be in juniors and I'll only have one christmas play to go to though.0 -

on holiday they had chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes every morning .. strangely with cripsy bacon with maple syrup on it, sounds disgusting but its yummy!
I love American pancakes with bacon and scrambled egg and maple syrup..soooo good. Nigella laws on has a fab recipe for instant pancakes, think its in her express book, you mix all the dry ingredients together and store in a jar/tin and then take a cup full, mixed with 1 egg and 1 cup of milk...it's actually on my list of things to include in my homemade hamper0 -

I use a tub of fresh buttermilk, SR flour, an egg and touch of baking powder, I make the batter thick so they rise up light but spongey, yummm my mouth is watering! :rotfl:0
