  • Hi all,

I'm so pleased to have found this thread. For me this Christmas i will be going all out of the festive celebrations as this will be the last year my kids will believe in the big man and I want it to be extra special.

I've already booked tickets to Lapland UK on 8th Decmber and I think a naughty little elf might be coming home with us to get up to some mischief :p.

When I was a kid we were never allowed to start our xmas stuff until after my brother's birthday on 4th Dec. I always vowed that when I had a family we would start early but now I have a son also born on the 4th :wall:

    SOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

    HeHe.

When I was younger my parents owned a pub. My late Nans birthday was on the 25th Nov.

I loved her birthday. As soon as she had had her party, the decs would come out. Being a pub it was very OTT.

When they left the pub they kept all the decs in the loft. They gave some to me, to put up in my first flat. They looked bl00dy stupid in normal sized low ceiling room. My friends thought it was hysterical.:rotfl:

Just my stepdad to work out now and its all complete! (apart from the 3 items im in the middle of knitting lol)

Hi msgigglewick I think eggnogg is a milk, cream and eggs based diary drink normally with a spirit added like brandy with a bit of cinnamon or something it's always in the American films isn't it dosent sound too appealing to me rather have a baileys

    Hello Vintage queen 72.
Even though I'm still quite a newbie myself I don't feel like it(was a lurker for ages:)) so hello and welcome more newbies. Its a very welcoming and friendly place and I went from having nobody sorted for Christmas to having only 3 people left in a really short space of time with the help from people on here :j

Anyway back to why I posted just now:eggnog does not sound nice at all now I know what it is. I was the same and thought it was American version of a snowball. So thanks for clearing that up.

  • I always say dear daughter (she is dear, she costs me a fortune!!)

Did my Tesco shop online and noticed Xmas puds!
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00
  • I'm going to have a go at making dd a stocking this year. The Pound shop ones she's got don't hold their shape well and are awfully narrow. Might make a few leopard print ones with furry trim!
