  • It's in cheshire. I try and look up the address for anyone if they're near there and let them know exactly where it is.
The two times i've been i've got some absolutely beautiful stuff at christmas,i've never been during the rest of the year so i don't know what it's like then.
I think it may be a bit hit and miss you may need to be there at the right time because the first year i went, my EX MIL was so impressed with what i'd got she went three weeks later but barely managed to get anything... However i did go at the end of october because im so impatient when it comes to christmas. You know what they say...The early bird catches the worm :rotfl:

On a completely separate note, i just went to check on DS as he is going through a phase of his quilt ending up on the floor every night for some reason and he slightly woke up and said 'I knew at some point the witch would find his way inside' Either i'm the witch or he's having one scary dream haha!
Darn it Im nowhere near. *sulks* Hope you manage to get some lovely things this year too. :D Lol at your DS. :D

  • How exciting is the poundland stuff! We just sold a bunch of stuff on eBay - most I am using for store food but will definitely try and keep some to the side for a trip!!!
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
  • Thanks for the pound land link there some bits I could use for stocking && hampers etc so hopefully they will have the bits in the 3 pound lands close to me :)!! Will have to keep my eyes pealed!! I'm going into town again tomorrow after work so hopefully I can pick up some baskets for my hampers!! I also need to sort through what I already have and write some up to date lists as the ones I have I've prob gone completely off them as I see something and buy it and think oo I can do a hamper with that for such a person which is completely different to what I had already planned ooops!!
I mentioned Xmas to my boyfriend today and his face was a picture I'm sure he thinks I'm mad!! But he only buys for me and helps with his mums me and his mum do the rest for him && he just gives me
The money so he wait till dec 20th to get his!! Although I must admit I normally get mine and his mums £&& he just gets bits extra and gives me the money!!

Apart from waiting for my brothers "big presents" Which are usually dvd box sets or games we have decided he will be getting:

    Gonnies t shirt (brought)
    Gaming poster (brought)
    Top gear dvd (brought)
    New pair of jeans
    Bottle of after shave
    Socks
    Boxers
    Chocolates
Bracelets (like the mens surfer ones)
    a couple of novelty gifts
Maybe a voucher for game station or some thing.

We will roughly spend £100 ish on him but we still bargain shop.
I really don't know what to buy my mum.. she would love a IPAd but on my sick income I couldnt afford and she would never expect me too either! x

Instead of an iPad could you not get her another tablet but a cheaper one I know you can get them from around £70 now && there are a few on the eBay deals at the moment!! Also you could prob get a older iPad referbished for not much more if that's any help maybe but a tenner away each week till beginning of dec or something if you can afford it!! Hope that helps a little bit :) I know what it's like trying to do Xmas on sick income I did it last year and struggled I didn't end up getting anybody anything I wanted to get them but hey they your family and they understand x

I wouldnt advise getting a different non brand tablet, they are never as good/fast/reliable as what you will expect them to be (ie ipad standard) so it could end up a waste of your money.
We have brought our DD a google nexus 7 (excellent reviews and ipad standard without the price tag). They are still in the region of £200 though. And it is 7" which may be small for your mom.
I agree with Kayandy-put whatever amount you c an afford away each week and in the beginning odf December see what you have and what goodies you can get for it-all the best bargains are in the last few weeks.
    lovin' this site!

For tablets, I'm pretty sure the Blackberry Playbook deal is still on at Currys
    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/blackberry-playbook-tablet-pc-64-gb-129-currys-1294090?page=87
If you wade through the 87 pages on HUKD you'll see the vast majority are really pleased with it.

Thanks for all your tips and suggestions guys! I also know she would love a kindle! Her eye sight is deteriorating and with the kindle you can enlarge text , change backing light ect! She loves reading too! I would lay my life down for my mum so I will do everything in my power to make this a Xmas she will remember , like I said previously last Xmas was our first without my dad (he left after he had an affair) so although we made it good it was hard for us all.. so this Xmas I want it to be amazing , it doesn;t have to be about money , gifts or anything else in a material way but if I can make it with as little stress and worry as possible and make sure we are not last minute panicing and I know I can make it one to remember! x x x Its not about what you got , its about who you got and every day I count my blessings that I have a mum and best friend all in one :)
