also love the idea of xmas eve hampers i know my kids are bit big for the idea but love the fact of xmas pj xmas film and xmas goodies might make goody bagx for xmas eve for us get us in the spirit as it will be a emotional day on xmas without our missing loved ones.

Hi, I have been following this thread from the beginning and unbeknown to you, you have all assisted in getting me super giddy for xmas, even though I found out today that I am working xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day  I think I may actually cry.

kkennedy sorry for your loss. We found that last xmas was difficult for us, over the past few years we have lost our grandparents, several friends and more recently my OHs dad, so I bought some of those paper lanterns, we all put a message on our individual ones and lit them on christmas night. Although we are not a religious family we had a quiet minute or so watching them rise into the sky to remember our loved ones, even though we all ended up in tears it was a lovely ending to christmas evening. :A

As a secret Twilight fan :rotfl: I much preferred remember and abduction films incase you were looking for recommendations.
Does your sister like sweets? You could give her a candy apple (covered in the red sticky stuff) LOVELY and keeping within the theme :) Cherryade, cheap, yummy and looks like blood LOL!
You could probably get a few bits reduced after Halloween and also seen some twilight stuff in the poundshops :)
Im also a Twilight fan. :D Me and my sister did the Twiathlon last year (all 4 movies in a row at cinema) It was fab but sore bums after sitting in the cinema from 4.30pm til 2.30am. :rotfl: I *think* she already has Remember Me but thanks for the Abduction recommendation as Id never even heard of it until I started searching for Taylor Lautner films (not many is there!) and wasnt sure what it was like. :) The candy apple is a GREAT idea! :D Also cant believe i didnt think of cherryade! I want it to replicate when Bella drinks blood in Breaking Dawn part 1. :D Might try and get a glass bottle and make a 'Blood' label as putting it straight in the cup is probably not a good idea lol! :) Great ideas, thanks. xxx
I love Twilight too, love the idea of the apples and the blood! :rotfl:I think you can get Twilight notebooks, diaries etc on Amazon?
I have lusted after the notebooks for ages. :o Just been on amazon and they're cheaper than I thought so added to basket just in case I have enough funds at any point...:)

On Christmas Day we always open pressies here, go to ILs approx 11am ish then to my mums around 3ish. In 2009 and 2010 it was even busier as my nan was in hospital 2009 so visted her there and we visited her at home 2010 which is 30 mins away from my mums. Last year she went to my mums though which was lovely. I couldnt imagine spending xmas day without them so dont mind travelling. We usually alternate between my mums and ILs for xmas dinner but last years was at my mums and Im dreading having it at MILS this year. :( I know it sounds really mean but at my mums we all sit down together at the table which never happens usually (5 of my brothers/sisters still live at home but 4 are older and always in and out and obviously I dont live there anymore) and also my nan was really ill in 2009 and tbh I want to have as many xmas dinners as possible with her. Even though shes only 5ish more years older than my ILs she has been very unlucky with her health. Also if we have dinner at ILs it means we dont get to spend long at all at my mums where its more fun for DS tbh because he has people to play with and its not such a big occasion at MILs as we just have our dinner on our laps. MIL wouldnt make a fuss about it I know but Id still feel mean saying we're going to my mums again. Id like to help my mum with dinner too as shes been unwell lately (B12 deficiency mainly) and still has to carry on as usual without any help so would like to help with dinner. We always go to ILs for boxing day though? Complicated! :/

  • chirpychick- It will be so magical for you, babys first christmas. :) I have the same thing with my inlaws, I think they feel comfortable enough to say things to us that they wouldnt say to other people so I dont take offence if they dont come on days out with us or come to our house for things. They feel comfortable enough to say they dont feel up to it whereas with others I dont think they do?

skintbuthappy81-Sorry you are working on those days. :(

THANK YOU!!:j just ordered it for my dd and ds for their xmas eve elf hamper, they are going to think its so funny.
Also had a bit if a result in ordering the innotab for my ds (4) second hand on ebay they range from £40-£50 managed to get a new one from the House of Fraser website for £54.99 with free delivery, I was also ordering a couple of bits for the kitchen anyway as they were in the sale, and they have an offer on at the mo that if you spend over £100 you get 2000 point which works out to be £20 of vouchers for HOF, hopefully they will arrive in oct/nov so this means I get a free game with his innotab, which is fab!
DD (6) really wants an ipod touch, I know its a bit over the top, but you can pick them up really reasonably second hand, I know she will use it, plus think I will sell her DSi to pay for part of, I remember when I was 6 all i wanted was a Mr Frosty ice cream make!! how things have changed! :)

Wow,,,I think last time I was on here it was on page 87,,,fast moving christmas lovers lol

My DS started school this week so I went back into mammy mode. Im exhausted today! OH is on shifts so has been waking me up at 3am everyday at the min,,,yawn!

So anyway Ive just got tickets for Living North which is a huge gift fair up here in Newcastle from the 1-4th November. www.livingnorthfairs.co.uk They have one in York as well,,,its a great day out and I would recommend it for all your christmas fanatics. Its got food, alcohol, gifts, decorations,,,you name it its got it. Its worth looking at the exhibitors list even if you cant make it as it has alot of weblinks to there sites so you can order from there.

Ive been out with my mam today, did the usual bargain hunting. Came home with 2 of those gingerbread house money boxes and 12 mince pies from Morrisons lol of which I now have 2 left ooops.
My mam got me a cadburys elf as well which Im going to eat tonight.

She has decided to do my OH a chilli hamper....he is mad on spicy sauces, naga chillis and anything that will blow your socks off. So she's going to get him some bits from Living North as they have a few spicy sauce companies.

I still havent done much shopping, I won my ppi claims and now Im just waiting on the money to come through. Its cleared off all debt and left me with £300 towards xmas...well the majority of xmas. Its been a struggle this year, Ive just closed my business at the weekend, been a hard decision to make.
PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.

Will I win my Lloyds battle!!!

Currently saving for our wedding and what seems like a million other things":)

They also have a Marvel version (think someone mentioned a Marvel hamper?).

Haven't posted since long ago early in the thread but appreciate your comments, hints and links.

A BIG BIG THANK YOU MONEY MAKER- I've decided that I can't afford NOT to get it at that price, have just placed my order.
My youngest DS is just becoming old enough to join in with 'grown up' board games and he's mad on Monopoly at the moment.
I don't think I will keep it for a present though, perhaps just until December. I can't wait any longer to have a go. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
