Have sorted out my garage a little bit and found 2 presents I'd forgotten I had, which is rather nice. Also discovered I'd already bought my nephew's birthday present in the Boots sale, luckily before I put a cheque with his card!0

Well we got married in July, and I did a lot of DIYing for that. Now it's all over with I feel really empty... sooo to fill the gap I am beginning my Christmas prep
Ahh it sounds like your wedding went well!
I have the opposite problem, i'm getting married in March so I should be doing everything for that - but I keep getting distracted by Christmas! I think some of it is because wedding planning can be a little stressful whereas I never find Christmas planning stressful! :rotfl:
Also Christmas is before my wedding so I also need to make sure i'm organised for that!0 -
I'm feeling EXTRA festive today ladies.....spent the afternoon watching Christmas films with DD (Polar express and Love Actually) and have decided this evening I will bake lots of mince pies (since I've been promising myself I'd do them for weeks now) and even pop some Christmas music on and wrap some presents
Normally I like to leave wrapping pressies till closer to Christmas when it's freezing cold outside (can't beat sitting in a toasty warm house on a freezing cold December evening, with a hot chocolate, listening to Christmas music and eating mince pies!!!) but as I am expecting to be HUGE by Christmas (Just found out I'm pregnant - 13 weeks and 3 days - confirmed by my first scan yesterday) I'm thinking if it's anything like my last pregnancy I really won't be wanting to worry about that sort of thing when I'm the size of a house!!!
Grrrr just wishing the cold dark nights would hurry up and get here now, I don't like all this sunshine and heat!!! Give me snow blizzards, freezing cold winds and pouring rain instead of this any day0 -
I love the stocking MrsDrink , I wish i could do something like that but im utterly useless when it comes to sewing etc
.
I'm also feeling rather festive today, My friend thinks I'm crazy cause I've been texting her today saying i feel like getting the tree out :rotfl:
Of course i wouldn't actually go that far, That's reserved for december 1st, I just want it to get cold and wintery so i can sit snuggled up with a hot chocolate with mini marshmellows and watch the santa claus etc.
One of DS' xmas gifts arrived this morning that i ordered on amazon and i think i want it! Its a sea monkey's set but it has a little projecter light on the back so it lights up the wall and you can see them swimming at night.
I almost want to give it him now but i know i have to resist!!Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

Are you my long lost twin sister?!
My OH and friends think I'm mad because I keep telling them how happy I am that it's getting darker earlier!
I've been sorting out the loft today and found two beautiful M&S Christmas decorations I must have bought in the sales and not put in the decoration box. My reward, if I finish the sorting tomorrow, is to re-organize all my Christmas stuff. I was so good today but I just wanted to go through my Christmas books, cards, wrapping paper, decorations...0 -
Hiya
I finally managed to place part of my Amazon order today unfortunately not all of it as I had to add on some items for me for pregnancy (some liquid iron and also some rescue remedy) they took priority over Christmas annoyinglybut I have pre ordered the avengers for hubby and arthur christmas for our christmas eve hamper also christmas eve votive yankee candle (my first ever, i am very excited). A few other bits too.
Money is REALLY tight and I am starting to worry how we will afford to get the last few bits and food in. I am trying to do lots of surveys so i can use the rewards to complete my amazon order for free and I am buying some bits from the supermarket each month for the baby but the money isn't stretching as far as i need it to
People keep talking about buying in foody bits in advance for christmas but everytime i sit down to write a list for it my mind goes completely blank (i don't know if its baby brain or just me!)
If I could buy 1 or 2 bits each month it would really make a difference but I just don't know what to get. Also some stuff isn't even in the shops yet lol don't they know us control freaks need to start now
We still need to get a few baby bits too, my house needs a major top to bottom clean and I feel like I am just not achieving as much as i should be because i have no energy and am so lazy right now and have lots of people leaning on me and not supporting me and before I know it the baby will be here and my whole life will be turned upside down and ill be totally unorganised.
tbh im sure everyone would be understanding being due so close to christmas and everything but i want to have it all done. As selfish as it sounds, the thing i think bugging me is that ive put everyone else first, everyone else's presents etc are practically brought and wrapped but it is everything for hubby and i left and i feel we are going to be sat eating a value chicken on christmas day with the candles on to save electricity whilst all the people we have brought for wont appreciate their gifts and will all be having fabulous christmas's with butchers turkeys and all the trimmings. Though we will still be happy as we will have our little miracle, i so want to make christmas nice for hubby and myself after all we have been through this year.
omg sorry for the big stress out!!!!!!! I obviously really needed a rant!!!Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Well, I've just had a huge bonus! Was going through things to go to CS and opened an envelope, found a Christmas card from my brother with £50 in it which I had completely forgotten about. Love when things like this happen. Now what can I buy:undecidedA smile costs little but creates much0

It doesn't sound selfish at all! It sounds like the complete opposite if anything
You should put yourself and your husband first, especially at this special time in your lives. People will understand that you have a baby coming and will have a newborn and the amount of extra money that can take up! If anyone doesn't then they wouldn't be worth bothering with as far as im concerned, If i was in the same position i'd be giving everyone a token gift such a pot of gold etc and making sure my first xmas as a family with a new baby (Im presuming she/he is due before then?) was perfect and i think thats what you should do to.
Try not to worry and stress. Just make sure you're well taken care of. A happy mum makes a happy babyHaving a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne

thank you! I felt terrible for "saying it out loud" bubs is due 30th November so he will be very little and we will still be getting used to being parents for the first time at christmas!Everything is always better after a cup of tea0

Got some more stuff today...more cards from the Card Factory (remembered to bring my Christmas book with me, so knew which ones to get this time) and some more gift bags.
A Playboy set from BM which was £3.99 down to £1...they had about 5 different ones, but I had already bought them...lol
2 calendars from the Card Factory, at 2 for a £1 they will do for wee extras from my son to my cousins...
So tempted to start wrapping, but hopefully we will be moving sometime soon and will have a kitchen that I can get a table in...then I can sit at a table and wrap instead of trying to do it on the bed...lol;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0
