I did follow the links when they were posted but I'm just not understanding what are inside these calendars and they don't look christmassy - also there were light up ones and I didn't understand how they work either. I've never seen anything like it so I'm really struggling. Thanks
You are not being a pest
I suppose they might not be for everyone, The playmobil and lego ones have a toy etc behind each door, then at the end of the 24 days you have all the peices to build whatever the set it - The one i got my son is a knights castle. So on xmas eve when he's opened all the doors he'll be able to put all the stuff together and have a set to play with. The calender does still look christmassy to me, It has santa's face on in the corner and a snowflake pattern all over the box with a picture of what the final result will be underneath .
The me to you light up one just has a button i think that you can press and it lights up the decorations on the picture - Which is why i mentioned it may be a fun novelty for a toddler as they like that sort of thing.
I would usually spend about £4 or £5 on a decent chocolate calender for DS anyway, so buying the playmobil one which he will get decent toys out of for £8 was a real bargain. If i could afford to buy them at full price i would of last year as he would of love the star wars lego one, But i'd rather spend £30 on getting him a few more presents that £30 on an advent calender he didn't even know existed.:)Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne

I was wondering what it was so i've googled. I think they're trying to pull a fast one claiming they were ever 29.99! The cheapest i can find them is 20p, and the highest is £6.99. They don't give you a picture on that link either, which is bit odd.
This is what they look like for anyone wondering -

Last year was the first time we had the elf visit and he brought a gift with him which were a pair of xmas pjs., and a few bits and pieces throughout his stay, just silly things really, when he left on xmas eve he left a hamper for DS full of little toys and books and sweets and xmas related items, such as reindeer food and a santa key as we don't have a chimney so he could let him self in, a stocking, etc etc, I will probably have him bring the advent calender this year yes as it is a really great treat.
