Linzmac you sound like you already belong to our merry bunch of lovelies - stay out of lurkdome the more the merrierCaitlyn has such a beautiful way with words doesn't she. X
Feisty glad you got finished even if you were a little later than planned. Relax. At least with no car you won't be able to keep rushing around!
Our Christmas officially starts tomorrow, tree is in stand ready for dressing, decorations and outdoor lights are down from the loft and waiting to do there magic. Meal plan, shopping and a few odds and ends to sort then can go through my lists of lists.
DGD had such a brill day today. DH and I have had a real good time sharing her special day today, topped only by a visit to DSiL who has made such amazing progress in the last two days that she is leaving ICU and joining a general ward. Wooo hoooo. I am so delighted that she is coming along so well but a little apprehensive - she has had such excellent care on the unit and now she venturing onto a big ward with over stretched staff etc.
Linky my birthday is July 9thxxx

Had a lovely evening at best friends house, broke up from work and just got in to find DS throwing up, great! Hoping it is a one off as had McD for tea after athletics training but very much doubt it. Loads planned over the weekend, supposed to be going to friends for a party on Sat but may now have to miss this. Thought we had done well to miss the bug fingers crossed we have.
Hay ho need to go to town to finish a few bits off tomoz and will get up early for food on Sat then planning to bake on Sunday provided no one else is ill.

I break up for work at 1pm and it has just occurred to me that as I can only use the car for 16 more hours I better get everything Xmas related done - including the big shop. No list, no time and I am panicking a lot.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Good morning elves, Happy Winter Solstice!
Hope eveyone is calm, or calmish - hugs to those who are in a panic. Easy to say i know, but take a breathe, make a cup of tea /coffee / hot chocolate and make a list! I make lots of lists, all the time, family joke about it, but it helps me to see what really has to be done - and it is so satisfying to tick things off!
OMO - my birthday is 14th September, if you would kindly add me to your list. Thank you.
Still have plenty to do today ( according to my list! ) , but the end is in sight. Need last minute bits from s/market on Sunday. Working on Christmas Eve, so whatever I haven't got by Sunday night - we don't need!
Will pop back later to catch up, take care everyone xxx0 -

Morning, I'm going to spend the day wrapping and ironing. I'm working tonight, tomorrow and Sunday and on call on Christmas Eve. Just hope I don't get called into work. I've a day of Christmas crafts, baking and movies planned with the kids.
I'm still waiting on a few last minute parcels arriving, but if they don't come in time, then it is no great loss.
Hope you all have a god day x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Morning everyone, I am almost at meltdown stage now after having ds1 off school so can't stay long as it's my last chance to wrap today. Haven't even finished decorating- oh dear. Need to make shopping list as well (oh, and buy it!)
Did I mention that MIL has decided they will come over on Sunday after all, but just in the morning- just when I'm trying to cook the meal that they didn't want to come to- arrgh!
Haven't been able to read all posts but I hope those suffering from the lurgy are feeling a bit better today and that stress levels are not too bad- ha ha.
Risky- Thank you so much for the soup recipe, I will definitely be trying over the holidays when things have settled down a bit. I will report back to you. I will have to be very disciplined and follow the recipe exactly (something I usually find hard). It sounds absolutely delicious. I have a recipe for a warm goat's cheese salad that
includes sweet potato- let me know if you would like it and I'll dig it out next week

Fantastic news about DSIL, having spent nearly 2 weeks in hospital during the summer, this really made my heart glad. xmsgigglewick wrote: »

Hope you get to have a lovely time with the children on Christmas eve and not having to work.
Could I ask for some help please? You may remember that I am doing a casino hamper for MIL. Well I realised last night that the chocolate cards, poker chips and dice that I ordered from ebay 2 weeks ago, haven't arrived. I now need to find something similar in a supermarket or high street- has anyone seen anything suitable on their shopping trips please? I just don't have time to trail from shop to shop on the off chance. Thanks in advance. xx* Ebay- 1 Bag a Day *0
