What a wonderfully christmas day! Started off with the yummy mini pancakes & snow soup (vanilla milkshake) the elves had made us for breakfast. We then went to see nativity 2 (at last) david tennant was as yummy as ever, and i think the film was pretty good, i wasnt really concentrating on the story line, and only managed to wipe the drool from my mouth away whenever dh happened to be looking my way lol!
We then visited mil, always a strain as all she & her partner ever do is go on about how sucessful his kids are, how amazing his grandkids are blah blah blah, dh lost it only once and told them we may not be rich, our kids may not have designer clothes, but we work hard, pay for everything ourselves, and are extremely happy! I was so proud of him as we all walked away still on fairly good terms (we are well used to them, which is why we only visit twice ayear, and they NEVER come to us, despite invites). Anyway, on the way home we went to see santa (que dd and her "i want a baby annabell" and us shaking our heads as she isnt getting one - already spent budget before she decided she wanted one, but santa promised her "a nice suprise much better than a baby annabell", he was a lovely santa, really made it special), we then did our xmas lights drive-thru, lots of oohs and aaahs, and a few urghs!! Then home for tea, bath, and hot chocolate and fresh mince pies with a christmas film & all our xmas lights on. Now i truly do feel christmassy :rudolf:It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
I put on my fb page that I was now closed til 15th of Jan, and I ended up with 6 new orders all for Xmas! I'm too soft (and need the money) to say no. So I need to get painting. I already had another 4 orders on. I don't seem to have any time at all. DD has a party today that I need to stay and help, then I'm working tonight.
Hi ya,
whats your facebook page?
Cheers

Feisty what a week you've had:( DH to the rescue bless him he sounds like a darlingYou are setting yourself huge tasks to do you know. Be kind to yourself. If it gets done great if not you've got it to do for next year!
Emalou wow you've done so well to raise all that cash. Well done and for such a worthy cause
Pinknfluffy I want to come to yours pleassseeee it sounds so lovely and festive:) I will be good promise....
What a lovely lovely day I've hadDD who is usually so organised got in a right tizz about so little time so much to do etc and she has DGDs birthday Thursday so I packed her off with DH and a list and DGD stayed with me. Three hours later she returns a happy bunny and is now DONE (DH was less pleased he'd been sat in the car whilst she shopped!) We had a bit of lunch then she went home taking DGD with her.
Off we went to see DSiL and wow what an improvementApparently she's still very very poorly and they are unsure whether this new infection will respond to the antibiotics or she will need another operation. But she knew who were were and said- well whispered/mimed cos she's got a tracheotomy "I love you you know". Best Christmas present ever. Oh how I've missed her and she's back wooo hoooo.

The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
All year through0 -
Hello all. I've been a bit quiet as was desperately trying to get through work before finishing on Friday. Set myself a few unrealistic deadlines to be honest, so will probably still be checking emails and doing a few bits and pieces this week but I am determined not to be sitting working for hours at a time. I need dragging away from work at the best of times and this week before Christmas is my favourite time of year and I want to enjoy it!
Had friends round the other night for dinner and had a lovely evening, lots of lovely chat. Then yesterday we took my nephew on a local 'Polar Express' which was lovely. The staff were all wonderful which made the difference, as it always does with those type of things. My nephew is at such a great age (2 and a half) and kept us entertained with observations all the way - "I have so many fingers!" and "There is a tunnel in the sky! (a bridge!)
My present shopping is all done but I fancied a few hours shopping today, just to pick up a couple of little bits. Got a lovely cheap top for Christmas day from an M&S outlet place and some chocolate Santas for the family Christmas party I throw every year - I do little goodie bags for the kids. This year we're also doing cookie decorating, bought a cheap tub of icing and some sweeties and got some great little foil baking trays to hold the cookies while decorating, save them spraying my kitchen with hundreds and thousands! OH wrapped all my presents while I was out, which is a relief as I have known him leave it to the nights just before Christmas when all I want to do is sit down and relax/watch a film!
This week I'm off (off now until 7th Jan :j) but have a few appointments and lots of cooking and prepping. Wednesday I get a few hours with my adorable niece while my sister gets her hair cut. Not planning anything but cuddles and Christmas films. (She's only 3 months old so the films are for my benefit!!) Thursday night I'm going to Christmas with the Rat Pack, a lovely festive tribute show where I'm intending to knock back a few cocktails too!
Feisty your husband sounds like a hero! Mine has been known to talk me down from my crazy planning heights and while he never gets involved in the Christmas cooking and baking prep, he's always on hand to help with the tidying. Useful, as in my worst moments I seem to use every pan and utensil we have and he never complains!
Nanamia, so wonderful to hear about your DSiL, she's been in my thoughts, as have you.
Christmas Love and Ho-Ho-Ho Hugs to each and every one of you!0 -
Aaw Caitlyn what a beautiful heart warming post. Thank you so very much.
Think it's your job to introduce your darling niece to Christmas films and cuddles you can never start too early:) Ooh cuddles from a three month old how adorable they are at that age. What a wonderful Auntie you are, having fun with your nephew too:) They say the cutest things at that age don't they? It's nice to make a note of them in a scrap book or picture book cos they grow so fast. Out DGDs are almost two and just three so I know exactly how you feelBlessed

Such a good idea, thank you! My favourite to date has been him saying he wants to go to tie a mouse - he means a place called Tynemouth!
Hope you get plenty of time to enjoy the run-up to Christmas Nanamia. It sounds as if you've had lots of change and challenges to cope with recently and I'm amazed you've kept such a warm and caring attitude, you are definitely a big part of the huge heart and soul of this thread!
What will you be baking? :j0
