    Xmas Saver!
Had a lovely time shopping with Dd today.
The film was fab :j It is set at Easter not Christmas, but you would never know. They are meet at the North Pole, and one of the main characters is Jack Frost, so everything is icy.

Got tablets, and have been trying to work mine.
Bought 'The 12 days of Christmas' on the Kindle app (99p) but seem to open a blank page. Will look again tomorrow.

Am not overly upset about the job. I have not been happy for months to be honest. Would have liked to have said Goodbye to some of the people there, but I am sure I will bump into them around town.
Have worked out my money, and I will obviously be worse off. But once I took petrol in to account, and the fact I will now have more time to cook from scratch, the lose is not as bad as I first thought.
I will have a word at my day job, some extra hours may come up there. All my Christmas shopping is done , so I do not have to worry about that.
Don't know what has come over me, first my Mum now my job. Think I have reached a point in my live where I just don't need the aggravation. I am looking forward to finishing work at 2.30 on Monday, knowing I haven't got to start again at 4.

Will catch up on all posts in the morning. Brain not good enough for multi quote at this late hour.

    xx

It was manic at work today. So many customers saying that they are just starting their Christmas shopping! Madness lol

Wow. They are either male, mad or only have about two people to buy for…!

Glad to see you`'re not disheartened by it all, it may well prove to have been a good move :)

I have read back and was sorry to see that you didn't sell as much as you would have liked at the fair. I thought your stall and sale items looked brilliant so it' s definitely the customers who are at fault! I find it strange that tombolas are so popular, most of the stuff I have seen on them is recycled gifts......the kind that are usually recycled for a good reason lol :D

  • Had a productive day/evening/early morning (I suffer from insomnia so decided to get stuff done today instead).

I now only have my in laws presents to wrap and 5 cards left to sew :j:T

Unfortunately I lost my sewing needle which has put a temporary halt to my creating :( however I'm feeling a lot happier with Christmas preparations so hopefully I can now get some sleep! :D

  • Louise, while they were drawing the raffle yesterday I was thinking exactly the same thing! Some of the bits were lovely (wonderful soap and glory bits) but most were recycled presents tat that I would never buy.

Well, I think as my shopping cannot be collected yet I will try to get the house tidied and whip up some mince pies. They have wonderful Christmas tins in 99p store so will be able to store bits in there. I had a sneaky lie in so am a bit behind ;)

Thank you archiebear it seems like one thing after another sometimes doesn't it. But the hugs on here really help don't they or am I just too soppy :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :) xxx

If you're soppy then think the rest of us must be too:rotfl:Even though we all have our problems coming on here always brightens my day and cheers me up !

So glad your SiL is making progress, hope you enjoy your visit with her today and well done on getting the kitchen done...it's always the little things that make a big difference:)

Been up since 5.30am with DGS as his mum and dad went out last night...he's now having a nap, (reckon I've got about 10 minutes before he stirs again) whilst I'm sitting drinking coffee to keep myself awake LOL

Got to do a food shop today; we've been using up everything in the freezer to make room for Christmas stuff but need a few more meals for next week plus basics like bread and milk...I'm so NOT in the mood to do shopping today! Oh well, only another week then I'm off work for 10 whole days....can't wait!
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!

Hello guys, I've tried to keep up with this thread but RL has kind of taken over. Hope you're all feeling Christmassy. We're off to see The Hobbit soon which I've been looking forward to all year. All my presents are wrapped and now I'm making the remaining bits for my hampers and also trying to decide what table favours to do, I don't know why I still haven't decided this! Did pots of gold last year so it must be different.
Re/ xmas fairs, I'm sorry those of you that did them haven't made very much money after all that hard work. I agree though that you need to do a proper craft fair where people's expectations of how much they will need to spend are much higher. It was our school xmas fair yesterday and for the first time I wasn't doing a stall or anything. There's new people doing it and there were some new stalls - xmas puds, chilli jam, wreaths. All looking lovely, but parents go to a school fete with a fixed amount they are going to spend in their mind. They have likely already spent £5 on raffle tickets, paid to get in the door, paid for their children to see Santa and bought the obligatory school calendar or teatowel. They give their children money to spend and resign themselves it will be on tat. They have a few goes on the adult tombola. They haven't planned to spend £6.50 on a wreath and next to everything else it looks expensive even though we know it isn't really.
Hope you all have a lovely day.

just been watching BBC and they were doing a bit about homemade gifts, they were asking members of the public what their thoughts were most loved the idea but this one old woman said if it was something made by a five year old she would prefer something bought !!!

Morning, I'm just catching up. I've been ill this week, Infact we all have. Started with a sickness and diarrhoea bug, then into a cold. But hopefully it will be past I time for Christmas.

My shopping is all done. Just jammies to buy for the kids Xmas eve hamper. I was trying to find a 3 for 2 somewhere. Tesco did one last year.

I put on my fb page that I was now closed til 15th of Jan, and I ended up with 6 new orders all for Xmas! I'm too soft (and need the money) to say no. So I need to get painting. I already had another 4 orders on. I don't seem to have any time at all. DD has a party today that I need to stay and help, then I'm working tonight.
With 3 kids, one being a toddler, it's very hard to work from home

  • *WARNING RANT AHEAD*

I'm sorry lovelies, but have just had an awful argument with my Step Dad and am in much need of virtual hugs and cheering :(

I run two businesses from home and as already mentioned am trying to complete baking for 7 food hampers today. Earlier in the year it got back to me that my S-Dad had complained I only ever see them when I want something (we have a strained relationship) vowing independence, I made sure I never went to them for anything. When car broke down in November I sorted it myself and then got a very angry S-Dad telling me I should have gone to him, I don't appreciate his help etc, etc.

So now car is broke again, I asked if I could borrow his tools and drive to fix it. He has now taken over and demanded I take the car round at 12.30ish so it (and I) can spend the afternoon being prodded and poked by him and his mechanic friend. I politely told him I knew how to fix it, the part hasn't arrived yet and I am not stripping down the side of the car for them just to look and then seal it back up without fixing the part. Queue a very heated argument between him and me. He doesn't work, spends his time visiting friends and basically living a leisurely life (which tax payers are subsidizing) and when I explained I have accounts to do, cards to fill in on behalf of my elderly grandmother, visiting my grandmother, orders to fill, staff to pay, taxes to file, picking up shopping, baking cooking the dinner, cleaning the house etc etc he just scoffed.

I ended up putting the phone down in a fit of tears. I am now having to go round and eat up my entire day for him to play mechanic over something I could have done my self - I am far too soft for my own good :(
