Oh grief! I hadn't thought about it in terms of paydays
At least I get paid a little early in December, so I get 5, but it's a very long wait until the January one after that!

Even though I've simply been looking for any bargains and making them fit a recipient (to some extent at least), I think that I might start setting targets of so many completed presents per pay day, but aim to have all paid for and wrapped by the end of November.

Yes I want to buying to be done by the end of Nov after my pay on the 25th, then wrapping to be done by 1st week of Dec. I get paid a few days earlier in Dec but you are right it makes January even more bleak trying to eek out your money! :( So it would be nice this year to not have to use my Dec wages for xmas pressies.

I really want to make my auntie a my time hamper for Xmas as she has 3 boys between the age of 4-6 and is currently in uni studying nursing so doesn't get a lot of time to herself!! the only proble is I have no idea what to put into it up to now I have thought of
    - bubble bath
    - candles
    - a book
    - a small bottle of wine
    - chocolate

What else could I possibly put into it without it costing the earth my budget is 20-25 any ideas would be great!!

I love a glass of Baileys whilst having a soak in the bath, this is really nice too........

Bring it on Pixie! I haven't shared mine yet either. No-one is finding any of this boring - it's great to see what everyone else is getting and how to manage a tight budget.

Big pat on the back to everyone for getting organised and creating. :T

Pia Jewellery at https://www.piajewellery.com also has a sale on with a few 'cheap enough to buy as small but nice gifts' including some nice earrings, brooches etc for well under a tenner (some under 5)

    Love this thread!

Thanks for ideas on the doll house, i'll check facebay/freecycle/gumtree - dd has her heart set on the gltc one though - expensive taste!

Idid my list thanks to the inspiration on here - but im seriously lacking time and ideas lol, hope no-one minds if i post it?... blanks are where i've gone, erm blank lol

    Christmas
    DD1 (10) -
    DD2 (almost 6) -
    DD3 (almost 4) -
Hubby - usually spend the most on hubby, he is in music production so theres always a new musical technical thingie that he wants, i dont understand & costs a lot lol
Mum - she's asked for gardening vouchers so i'm thinking of making a hamper + scrapbook
    Dad -
Brother - think i might get a meal voucher for him & his g/f & a bottle of wine
    Brothers g/f - as above
Mil - thinking of getting her a kindle - if i can save enough vouchers it will be from us, if not the prob go halves with Sil + scrapbook
    Fil - usually clothes/trainers/vodka lol
Fil's g/f - basket of bounce as she's tigger daft
Nephew - usually clothes & a toy, budget around £50 as we dont get him mum & dad anything anymore (& vice versa)
Aunties x 3 - (2 live together, I have made embroidered hanging heart and probably make a mini album)
    Gran/Grandad -
Secret santas - we have about 25 close friends kids and christmas was a nightmare getting everyone a present (not to mention receiving them all!) so for the last 2 years we've held a xmas party and done a secret santa - £15 each, as i have 3 girls i spend £45 but definately a saving compared to years past! Wont know what to get until draw has taken place lol.
Cousins 2 boys - usually just a token gift each (was thinking jar of sweets as a local shop had beautiful jars for £1 and i could decorate & fill)

    Birthdays
    Best friends son -
    Brother -
    Fil's g/f -
    Mum -
    DD1 -
    Hubby (23rd dec) -
    Fil (24th dec) -
Nephew (30th dec) - probably just money
Cousins son - token gift again

my3girls might not be appropriate but your nan and grandad are blank and i got mine yaktrax type things my nan had a fall last year in the bad ice and snow and MIL had brought my hubby some and he LOVES them. He thinks they are brilliant - might be worth getting some for yours? (also planning on doing a photo of bubs in a nice frame which you could do with your girls also). There is also the option of making a "keeping warm" hamper which I have also done in the past and they really seem to appreciate the "being looked after"

Hi chirpy - do you mind me asking where you got these from? My mum lives in the countryside and walks to work (and doesn't like driving in snow) so these would be useful for getting to work and out and about in bad weather.

  • I've spent a while reading this thread over the past few days, I thought i was the only one mad enough to be thinking about Christmas :rotfl:
I started shopping in june and am feeling fairly pleased with where i'm at so far :D
Im glad im not the only one who's already thinking about xmas! I hope you don't mind me joining in on the thread , its nice to speak to other people who are enjoying the xmas festivies so early in the year like me haha.

I've been sat having a natter over a bottle of wine (or three) with my friend tonight about me buying gifts already and she thinks i am batcrap crazy :D
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

It's lovely being 'batcrap crazy' isn't it? What a brilliant expression! :rotfl:

I think the rest of them are mad for not wanting to watch christmas films in July and not automatically veering toward anything festive. I'm begining to think it may be genetic because my older sister is a bit the same. Maybe it's because we both have winter birthdays?
