I'm on the Hertfordshire/Essex border and we have snow. My school is closed as not enough teachers made it in - lots travel from rural areas and as you say I don't think the roads have been gritted!

I did a lot more wrapping last night, whilst watching While You Were Sleeping [one of my favourite Christmas movies]. I think they look alright, but my Asd@ white patterned paper isn't very thick. With awkward shaped things, I ended up tearing it and having to start again.



In reference to my hunt for the Dandy, I finally tracked it down! I tried another 5 shops today [2 newsagents, WHS, Asd@ and finally S@insbury's] - I was so chuffed to finally find it. They only had three copies at my local S@insbury's, so maybe they are quite scare... You can order them online though [for an additional £1.50 on the cover price] if anyone else is looking for them.

grrr was meant to go hunt for one of these this morning (dandy comic) but totally forgot! and aren't available online anymore boo lol

On the plus side i did remember to use my double up voucher for frozen food, so now have the sausage meat, mini sausages, sausage rolls and a large ham joint etc all bought! ...shall get some frozen desserts once the turkey is out of the freezer..

Also got some new pastry cutters (mine have gone walkies) so shall make some mince pies later.

I'm aiming to get all the wrapping done this week but motivation is at a minimum :S

Ms Gigglewick, I made some mince pies yesterday, not had chance to try any yet. I made some at the weekend using my muffin tin, in the hope of making deep filed pies. They tasted great but didn't look very professional I used SR flour by mistake tot so the pastry expanded too :rotfl:

I'm on the London/Essex border. Had a tiny bit overnight or this morning-when I was asleep anyway!-but melting very fast.

Think it's time for some Christmas stitching & a film. This is my one day to myself. No going out. No people dropping round. Just peace & quiet. Apart from chasing Blossom down from the tree! :xmastree:

OH has booked a half day to come home early have lunch and watch christmas films and basically look after me how cute They get two half days in December to use for xmas shopping, OH had 1 more left to use so feel special it was used to look after me!!

Georgie (the cat) must realise Im ill too because for the first time since we put the tree up she hasnt bothered going near it or the ribbon on presents, shes just fast asleep on the sofa beside me! (taken a keen interest in my hot mug of tea earlier though lol)

Went to pack some clean clothes in the drawers to find OH silly stocking filler hidden amongst tshirts! Its only reggae sauce but she loves it and we dont usually indulge in "branded" sauces through out the year, not that we cant afford it but for weight loss we avoid all sauces so this is a wee treat! Now need to find the energy to go back upstairs and get wrapping paper, until then its hiding behind my cushion on the sofa beside me

Want to make the most of today (as much as I can with the little energy I have) as Im going back to work tomorrow so going to make the family dvds Im adding to everyones hamper filled with our own photos from christmas / birthdays and holiday past to enjoy, everyone is gettin a different one tailored to photos focused on that person and I - hope its well received because I have about 10 to make!! Anyone any ideas how I can present them? I would like something a little nicer than the usual plastic dvd covers you get so all thoughts welcome!

No snow here I'm in Manchester! Very glad hope we don't get it till after Saturday then ill be done shopping so it can come after that haha!!

Jj I'm sure you're cat will turn up I have a cat but he is a house cat as we live on a busy road!! I have a panic attack everytime he goes near an open window so no idea how you must be feeling!! I'm sure he will come he soon!!

Well my mil went for a scan yesterday on here lung and she is still cancer free she has to go for the scan on her leg on the 27th so we shall see what that one says!! My grandad was allowed home yesterday after having the cancer he has take out of his bowle he can now relax till new year when he has his op on his liver!!

I just have to get my mums pjs && stepdads batman bluray and bf's batman boxset then I'm done woohoo!! Putting my tree up on Tuesday of next week!! We have a little black one up at the moment but putting my big one up too!!

I've got a busy month and didn't realise till I wrote it on my calander!! On Saturday last Xmas shopping with mum 12th sisters bday 15th meal for sisters bday 16th small Xmas as sister working Xmas and not down till 28th!! Then I have a trip to bury planned a trip into Manchester planned and my brothers Xmas play!! Xmas eve party at mums, Xmas dinner bf's aunties, Boxing Day party at mums then my sister down 28th babysitting nye that is it haha!!
