Will have a treat KFC for dinner and do some more shopping. A few more pressies for the girls, something for SIL. I need a new dress for a party we are going to on sat

I can totally understand. I passed my test in Feb but was lucky. Despite learning from November - Feb, I didn't really encounter any snow or ice - I suppose my instructor wouldn't have wanted learners out in his car if they might skid. :o I didn't start driving again until August and it is actually only the last month or so that I've driven regularly [I share the car]. This week, I am looking after my younger brother, which includes getting him to school 4 miles away for 8am each morning. Needless to say, it has been a swift introduction to driving in icy conditions lol! I have also got some more de-icer too, after discovering this morning that we had run out [I ended up using the kettle to clear the windows]. :o

Still waiting to hear back from my lesson observation yesterday. However, I've been shortlisted for three other teaching jobs. Two of the interviews/observations are fine [before work but not clashing] but one of them is tomorrow. I have only just found out and it is slap bang in the middle of my shift. Typical. I've contacted the school to see if they can rearrange but I'll just have to wait and see. :o Hopefully all this shortlisting will lead to a job, sooner rather than later. *fingers crossed*

Please buy some de-icer, its very dangerous to poor boiling water on windscreens as it can cause them to break!

Ms Gigglewick, I made some mince pies yesterday, not had chance to try any yet. I made some at the weekend using my muffin tin, in the hope of making deep filed pies. They tasted great but didn't look very professional :D I used SR flour by mistake tot so the pastry expanded too :rotfl:

Well i've made them lol pastry was a lil on the thick side and over filled a few but they look rather nice! shall try one when they have cooled with a cup of hot chocolate lol.

Not made mince pies since i lived back in Honiton so over 10 years ago lol

Woo hoo I survived the shops last night, was surprised how many people were out and about though.

I got my Christmas Jumper! Well actually I ended up going for a Christmas sweatshirt from Primark. Couldn't justify spending anymore really! :money:

The socks are 'bad jumper' socks my dad sent me from the US :rotfl:

If anyone is near a Tiger shop you must go as they have loads of lovely decorations in. I couldn't resist these horse ones

I didn't really do everything I wanted as Mum was with me and she just wanted to get home :D Thinking I might head back there tonight and try and get everything done and out the way.

We had a tiny bit of snow this morning, was quite a surprise when I went out to the car. Hope everyone's keeping warm though, it's freezing!

JJ - hope kitty turns up soon, as someone else said I'm sure they likely gone in somewhere to get cosy.

Daisie - Hope you're feeling better now :)

weeclick - Glad you've got some company today, hope you're feeling better as well.

I have got some today, don't worry. And, I didn't use boiling water, I used warm water [I stopped the kettle before it boiled] - I would have taken it from the tap itself but our hot water tank thing takes forever to get to temperature. :)

Wrapped another 7 presents. It is novel having different papers/ribbons/colour schemes. Normally, I pick one and use it for all my gifts, but I have four on the go this time. In a way, I prefer it - certainly adds some interest to the bag of presents, rather than them all looking the same. :)

JJ I am so sorry hun :( I really hope they turn up soon.

First of the Christmas presents have arrived! Was about to start placing them in the lovely santa DVD boxes, but I figured I would just wait out to see how many boxes are left from the fete ;)

Have had a wonderful present idea for familes - a framed papercut of the family tree. Once I have completed one, I will share some photo's ;)

Thank you all for your thoughts re Turbo. It's so unlike him to go wandering, he's such a home boy as a rule. It's the not knowing, where or how he is that is hard to deal with.

I've notified my vets and put a lost poster up in the surgery. I've driven the lanes and road near me, but no sign of him. I've walked the barns at the farm down our lane, (we're very rural) and I've dropped leaflets with his picture through doors of the local homes. I'm just praying that someone comes home, pops out to check their outbuildings/sheds and he comes dashing out and home to me. I've already had to say farewell to one cat the other month, and Boo is my babe, follows me everywhere as a rule. I feel like my heart is breaking. Sorry, don't mean to be gloomy, just so worried. Thank you all for your thoughts though, it means a lot.

weeclick hope you're feeling better soon.

aliaslotte good luck on the job chick.

    sk00bie1 I love that sweatshirt!
