Rebel-lovely photos. I adore your Christmas cushions!

Sk00bie1-your Christmas village is gorgeous & I'd love those cupcake decorations on my tree.

I am loving seeing all the photos, but I'm a bit nervous about posting my pics now. Everyone's houses are so tidy! It's like looking at show home photos. Our house is worse than usual at the moment because we had a leak under the floorboards recently, so we had to have some wallpaper stripped off & plastering done. Still sorting out insurance, so can't redecorate yet.
It's taken all weekend to do the Christmas decorating and it's still not finished. Trying to find places to hang tinsel where the kitten can't jump at it is taking a while. All she has in 'her' room is Christmas cuddly toys in a hammock on the window. Might hang some cross stitch pics in there too. Our bedroom has some lights now, which are nice, but can't find the remote control socket to plug them into. Anyone else use these? So useful-especially for Christmas tree lights. Used them to plug the fan in during the summer too. When it got too hot in the night, just reach for the remote & turn the fan on for 10 minutes.

Edited to add-just curious as to what people have on top of their tree. Star? Angel? Something else? Do you leave that until last to put on?

    Xmas Saver!
After another day crafting, I have decided I am going to stop panicking.
What I do not have I can not sell.

    I have the following-

    Reindeer food
    Reindeer poop
    Snowman poop
    Kids boxes (Choc Buttons)
    Adult boxes (ES Mints)
    Worth a Mint
    Tea sliders
    Coffee sliders
    Seed sliders
    Gift tags
    Jars of sweets
    M&M story
    Symbolism of the Candy Cane
    Soapball snowballs (tags to make)
    Cookie cutters (tags to make)
    Mint cones

Actually didn't realise I had so much until I just typed it.:D

The fair should go well. It is at a village primary school. It is quite a well to do village, and people tend to spend when the school is involved.

I also have a gift party on Wednesday. I am going to take orders, then take everything to the fair. So what doesn't sell will (hopefully) cover the party orders.

Well better get back to making my tags.:)

PS All the trees look lovely.
  • Hi, not been on for a while.
Loving the pictures of the decorated rooms it looks fab I wish my house looked so tidy! I haven't got my tree up yet but I'm sure it won't be long once my kids start nagging me.
Good luck Chirpychick with the baby when he decides to arrive, I always think a baby in the house at this time of year is so special.
Been enjoying reading what everyone has been getting up to. I seem to have come to a bit of a grinding halt. I was feeling really festive up until a week or two ago and I just seem to have gone all 'bah humbug' with no energy to do very much. I'm sure I will snap out of it, for my kids if nothing else, I want them to have a great fun christmas. I'm amazed by all the energy you guys seem to have!
Maybe I just need to get a crimbo cd on and 'get with it'. Or maybe watch 'Elf' that should soon cheer me up.

Went to see Nativity 2 today and I have to confess I was rather disappointed, only because the first one was so lovely and so funny, and this just didn't live up to it IMO. The children preferred it though as there was white water rafting and climbing down cliffs and they were very impressed the child actors (we know a couple) got to do that stuff! They still don't believe us that they didn't. Nice to see Stratford and Warwick Castle in there too.

  • Hi all, will catch up in a little while, but I need to ask some advice.
My dd has recently started to show an interest in hairdressing! (she's 5). Her big sister has this year decided she wants to buy each of us a gift from her pocket money, she's been saving since October! Ive told her we would be happy with chocs or similar, but she is determined she wants to buy her sis one of those styling dolls heads. Ive searched amazon but their very expensive, or the cheap ones have really bad reviews. Can anyone recommend one? DD has £10 to spend on it, but i would be happy to put another £5 to if we can get one.
    Thanks in advance
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

be very happy to share experiences and help in any way, do you mind if I ask what the issue with the retina was?

Thanks, that is really lovely of you. My sister has tiny holes in her retina so it's gradually detaching. Apparently it's rare for someone her age (they said she was the youngest they seen by some 30/40 years for some time) but she has always been very short-sighted so they didn't seem too surprised. Pleased your husband's ops went well. It makes me think how vulnerable our bodies are and how lucky we are to live in this country with the expertise that exists in the NHS.

These look lovely! Not long after my sister moved in with her now husband, she had garlands on her staircase and I'll never forget the almighty row that ensued when the mother in law told my sister she "would have to get rid of those stupid things" as the elderly grandmother was coming for lunch and they were considered impractical!

Don't think my sister ever forgave her and they still have a somewhat strained relationship to this day! :rotfl:

Had a lovely day today with my niece and nephew. Delivered their Elf and my nephew was indignant at first ("He WON'T tell Santa if I'm naughty!") but he warmed to him and by the end of the day we caught him whispering to the elf "I slept in my bed all night last night and ate my carrots today"!
