  • THANKYOU to everyone for the lovely birthday wishes...i think Nanamania must have a photographic memory, it was about 20 pages back that i mentioned my bday coming up! But thankyou, really made me smile to come on here & see wishes from all my magical christmas buddies xx

Got the usual lovely pressies from family & friends this morning, and when I got home from work, not only had my dh travelled back from scotland to spend the afternoon with me, he had also brought a HUGE 7ft real christmas tree as an extra suprise present! I cried like a baby (for those who didnt read my original post my gp's always put their tree up on my bday, its such a fond childhood memory) and I hugged him so hard he had to prise my arms from around his neck lol! Anyway, it is now expertly decorated by me & dd's and takes pride of place in the bay window area of my lounge! This has truly been a fantstic birthday xx

    Happy Birthday !!

Glad you have had such lovely birthday surprises :T:bdaycake:

    Hi all,

Hope one of you can help? I've been dipping in and out of this thread so think you guys are the best to ask! Please can you recommend some reasonably priced places for me to look for a xmas jumper for my bf? I've looked in Primark and New Look and Tesco and not had any luck so far. Thanks x

have you checked Matalan, I got a lovely reindeer cardi from them, or M&S the womens ones are lovely, so assuming the mens one would be too?

sorry if it's been mentioned (back at work now so quick catch ups as and when I can at lunch/ when I get home). Looking like a price war is looming (more then it already is) on choccy tins.

If anyone else is making a felt crimb tree (come on felt hurrrry up). Ive found an ebay seller who has already cut baubles/ gingerbread men/ letters from felt at a really good price (when i costed doing it myself) , then going to stick shiny things on them.
linky. have only just ordered so will update on quality etc when they arrive.

I'm getting so cross. ordered something online from Argos that has vanished off the earth and it has taken me AGES and 2 promises it is being investigated for me to get a response (after threatening them with trading standards).
WHSmith have had a complaint put in as well because at almost a week later they havn't dispatched the annuals that were on half price and B1G1F.

Seems I'm spending my life complaining to companies.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Aaw bless Pinknfluffys DH :) What a really lovely thing to do. I'm so glad you had a great birthday you deserve it. X

Msgigglewick what a lovely story really heart warming. It's so nice to hear that the true meaning of Christmas is still alive and well :)

Early night for me tonight, all this hospital visiting is starting to catch up on me- plus DH is being less of a darling tonight! Think an early night might save my sanity :) xxx

Thank you. This is the direction my DS appears to be heading in this year. He has even asked if we can decorate the kitchen and bathroom

    Xmas Saver!
    Happy Birthday pinknfluffy28 :bdaycake:

I have had a full day today. Met up with Amey and her Mum at Hearts Delight. Had a lovely time, but as with most places this year, their Christmas department was not up to much.
Got 2 trees for forest.:o Am going to stop now. It has cost a fortune, but because I am buying it in bits, I haven't really noticed.

Went to B&Ms after and got bits for Manicure Jars. It is the same set I use, so I know the nail clippers and tweezers are good. They had gone down to £1, so a great bargain. also got some nail varnishes.

Came back to Clacton and got the other bits for the jars; quickie pads £1 and pumice stones shaped like feet, 3 for £1.
Got a couple of Christmas rubber stamps and a pad, in the art shop. It has moved, and I always forget it is there.:o

Popped into work then came home to fill the jars I washed this morning. Did the sweets, but the manicure set didn't fit, so went back out to Morrisons and got bigger jam jars at 29p each.

Dd is at this exact moment trying to scrub the labels off. I am sure they used super glue.
Am also going to put popcorn in bigger jars. I have choc and sugar, and are going to layer them.

Nearly forgot to say, that so for the Pamper Jars, I have
    a chocolate bar
    2 scented tealights
    a small bath fizzy

Need some more bits, but don't want to make it too expensive.
Will probably get a face-mask for them, but then I have no idea.

    Sorry for the rambling :o

Glad you had a nice time, sad to have missed it! Came home from school covered in glitter and with stinking headache! But I had fun :rotfl:
Can i ask where B&m s is? Just discovered theres one nearish to me at Southend.
  • Brilliant result today. On the e mail advice from mse I traded in £20 of Mr T vouchers for £80 to spend in Goldsmiths, so that's my eldest ds's preemie sorted. He wants a titanium ring so just checking his finger size and will order it. Now that's the kind of shopping I like!
Began writing Christmas cards tonight so beginning to feel really Christmassy. Went to Ikea last night and obviously bought candles - does anyone actually manage to go there and not buy any? But bought a large red lantern, now it's home it really is large! But have 4 numbered candles to burn each week of advent. Roll on Sat....
Going to go shopping on Sat and that should be it - I'll let you know !,
