  • Well my xmas spirit has well and truely left! Am quite stressed as somehow instead of just helping with the xmas bazaar at school, have ended up organising it:(

Wouldn't mind but i'm having my own stall selling xmas door wreaths and table decs etc and i haven't even started yet. Hoping that putting up the decs at the weekend will bring festive cheer back.

WHSmith have had a complaint put in as well because at almost a week later they havn't dispatched the annuals that were on half price and B1G1F.

I'm still waiting for mine too but having checked their site delivery to store is up to 7 working days ! my order could take up to next Monday even though i ordered last Thursday , its really not good enough , with this level of service its no surprise they are going down hill fast

  • IMO 7 days should mean 7 days as they open 7 days a week. they have deliverys from the warehouse probably every day - so why not put peoples parcels on daily??
asda/ tesco etc can manage it.

It's just adding fuel to my theory they will be in administration by valentines day.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • Snugglebunny8-Thankyou. xxx Just got in a big money muddle but we'll just have to get through it somehow! Am trying to scale down christmas as much as I can but it can only take so much scaling down lol. Trying to retain my christmas spirit though. :xmastree:

FeistyFidget-You are so clever. :) How are you making the boxes for the nail varnish sets? x

Nanamia-Take care of yourself, you are important to a lot of people including everyone on here. :) Hope you have a nice restful night. :) xxx

    pinknfluffy-What a wonderful surprise. :)

springdreams-Your tree pics are fab. :)

Am really having to budget for christmas, have loads still to buy on very little money! Need to get a wii game for BIL but will get it from Cex, trying to find some dvds to trade in so it wont cost much. (is £10 but only have rubbish DVDs that go for 60p or less lol) have got OHs nephews £10 voucher through spudshillings, am watching spy watches on ebay as I HAVE to get this as its the only thing DS has asked Santa for and if I do some questionnaires tonight Ill have enough to get a £10 amazon voucher. At least Ive finally decided what to get everyone! I seem to be doing an awful lot of guft baskets this year, I have no idea how they are all going to fit in the car on Christmas Day. :rotfl:

my local store has drastically reduced its floor space they have sectioned a large area at the back off , the shop is about 1/3 smaller now.
i didnt realise anyone used the "working days" thing anymore ! until i read their delivery info i wont order from them again and i agree they will be lucky to survive 2013.

  • Glad you had a lovely time OMO!

Hope your festive cheer comes back soon ELJAYCOCK. You'll do a great job organising it. xxx

  • pinknfluffy that sounds so lovely :)

Eljaycock, is there no way you can get out of organising it? Perhaps just say you don't feel you can give it the full attention it needs?

lizalloareds Money cards are 9cms wide by 16cms tall (should fit up to a £50 note), DVD/Game box is 19.5cms tall by 14cms wide and 1.5cms depth and CD box is 14.5cms wide by 14.5cms tall and 1.8cms depth - good thing is, if anything asks for different dimensions, it can easily be adjusted :)

Moneysavingmumofone I have a nice template for a scalloped topped bottle box and I will probably add some festive shape cut-outs to make it nice and Christmasy - I love my silhouette cameo =D

I have just made some lovely cards that I can't wait to share with you all - I secretly hope they don't all sell so I can use them myself ;)

Glad you had a nice time, sad to have missed it! Came home from school covered in glitter and with stinking headache! But I had fun :rotfl:
Can i ask where B&m s is? Just discovered theres one nearish to me at Southend.

B&M is in Harwich. Go straight down the A12 and you can't miss it. It is by the docks, (where Focus was, if that helps).
There is a Morrisons, Lidls, B&M, Argos, Brantano Shoes and Bonmarche.

Will have to meet up after Christmas. x
  • Hello all! Hope everyone is getting their Ho! Ho! Ho! on as much as I am. Hugs to those that need them, especially those that have been poorly recently, what a cruel time to be feeling yuck! I'm glad to not be out shopping at the moment, everywhere seems busy near me, plus I am all out of spends so grateful to be done!

Loving everyone's photos so here are some of mine. Doing this in two lots, partly because I am putting my two trees up separately (my real tree arrives on Friday) but also because I asked my OH to take the pics and he can't resist an opportunity to show off with his camera so I have far too many pics anyway! (I've saved you all from the ones where he made all the lights look like snowflakes and the 463 he took from silly angles)

No colour scheme, but we get a decoration everywhere we go (in UK and abroad) and have collected them for years. It's a tradition my godmother had and I loved her tree when I was little, would lie and look at it for hours! Mine is only a fraction of what she had so you can imagine how busy hers was!!

The silver decoration with the picture in is my dad when he was younger, my OH had them made for me and my sister last year - they are engraved with 'Has He Been Yet?' on the back, because my dad would ask that right throughout December once the decorations were up. I also try and buy decorations that were like the ones we had when we were little, so the stained glass house to the left of the picture of my dad is as close as I have ever been able to find to one set we had when I was very little.

I am a right tree decorating weirdo, I confess! I don't collect anything or have any expensive habits or posh possessions. Should I ever have kids, my Christmas decorations will literally be all the poor blighters ever inherit!
