Hello
I hope you don't mind me posting I've been a lurker and huge follower of the thread for ages, I'm quite behind so don't know if this has been posted but as soon as I saw it I thought of you lovely people. On amazon you can download the kindle version of 'twas the night before Christmas for free. I have the kindle app on my iPad and it looks brilliant! :T:j
Here's the link:) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Twas-Night-Before-Christmas-ebook/dp/B0094GEGJ2/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1354193139&sr=1-1Petabear loves MSE!0 -
Just spotted this on Amazon & thought some of you might be interested.

As it's free on Kindle, I thought I'd give it a try. Off to sync it now & have a look.
Given the above post, I thought I should edit this to say its not the the same book! Lol! My link is for "Christmas Gifts They'll Actually Like! 25 Easy, Homemade Gift Ideas - Plus Instructions [Kindle Edition]"Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
caitlyn22-Your tree is beautiful! Such a lovely proposal too.
Own My Own-Even though Ive never made anything to sell, I can relate to the feeling like a fraud as I do everytime I make gift baskets as presents. Im all positive but then when it comes to giving them I panic! You will do brilliantly.
If anyone still needs an elf I saw some in Poundland, they werent cuddly but like garden gnomes. (they also had other christmassy ones) Might be good for older children or adults? Also theres an Arsenal elf on ebay which is only £3.99 with free postage, if you're not keen on Arsenalyou might be able to unpick the badge or cover it with something? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arsenal-FC-Plush-Christmas-Gift-Soft-Toy-Elf-/140890289318?pt=UK_Soft_Toys_Bears&hash=item20cdb734a6
I received my nail varnishes from SuperDrug today, thanks so much to FeistyFidget for posting about them as they are brilliant for 33p each!
Im preparing myself for a long day tomorrow, have to leave at 6.30am to get to IKEA for opening time. I want my free tree! :j Im not normally this extreme when it comes to sales etc but Ive promised DS a real tree and getting it free will really help so needs must! :rotfl: Then we need to pick my mum and 2 brothers up and drive to Surrey for the Dr Who craft fair then need to drive back to babysit my niece and nephew. And its advent calendar day yay! Hopefully it will be a lovely festive day! :xmastree:'They only had one cow!'0 -
Oh also my Michael Buble Christmas CD arrived! :j Ive never really been that interested in Mr Buble but after hearing him on Heart radio the other week I am now a little bit in love with him! :rotfl:'They only had one cow!'0

Snugglebunny8 wrote: »Caitlyn I love your tree, its beautiful! I love to buy little bits and pieces wherever in the world I go, though admittedly since the children were born most new things we've bought are Disney related as there is a year round Christmas shop in Orlando and the decs are so beautiful we always have to bring a couple home!
Oh my word I had to restrain myself in there when we went to Florida earlier this year!! There's one Mickey-shaped one made of silver bells on this tree but I could have bought so many more. It's such a huge shop. We're going again in March (we're getting married in Florida) and this time all my nieces and nephews will be with us so I'm really looking forward to seeing their faces in all the parks/shops! Enjoyed our last visit but I think there were some things that were just wasted on us. (Not the Christmas shop though!)
All my favourite decorations actually come from garden centres, but I never buy anything full price, just wait for January when everything is cheap as chips :j
I know daytime television is generally bad, but what on earth is this Crime Stories on ITV?! I saw a bit of one the other day and it's just come on now. It's filmed like it's a 'fly-on-the-wall' with a voice-over etc, but is actually a drama. It's SO awful!!!
My sister had some bad news this week, bless her, she has to have an operation on her eyes, problem with her retina breaking down. I'm so proud of her though, she's normally a very glass-half-empty person but even though it's a huge op and pretty nasty, she's being so positive about it! Think after we lost my dad she lost her 'mojo' a bit but now she's had children she's really got a sparkle back!
My work are doing a collection for a local food kitchen in the run up to Christmas, it's the same charity I give to through my payroll each month (part of that give as you earn scheme) but I have been looking for something practical to do to help them too, so gathering up things from their list today. And tidying. Putting up the tree in one room seems to have mysteriously disassembled all my other rooms.0 -
OwnMyOwn - just wanted to send you a big hug - like everyone else has said your 'makes' really are stunning and professional. I think you will be very pleasantly suprised at how much you sell - everyone goes to these fairs with the intention of buying treats/presents and, as previously mentioned, the professional traders are usually very expensive as well as selling the 'same-old-same-old'. The gifts you have made are thoughtful, unique and affordable and people will be digging deep into their pockets I'm sure. People will be snapping up your beautiful creations for their loved ones
I made a lot of similar things voluntarily (but nowhere need your standard) to raise funds for our preschool last year and everything sold out, making over £100 profit - people just couldn't get enough of it all. I am feeling very excited for you, please keep your faith - it will be soooo worth it

OMO big hugs, now I'm really panicking! If your worried with your lovely stuff, then I am really distraught now!
On the selling kits front, does anyone know where I can get some really cheap Christmas themed cookie cutters? I'm not allowed to sell food at my up-coming fete, but figured that a salt dough ornament/gift tag kit would be wonderful for the parents to buy[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Can't believe I've only just ventured into this thread and found people as nuts about Christmas as I am
I love it!, can't wait till Saturday so I can put up the tree! Unfortunately my OH doesn't share my love but he puts up with meI'm currently sitting on our bed making these, not sure if he'll put up with all the fake snow that's getting in to the bed! He just gave me one of those 'you're so strange' looks, maybe I'll get away with it!!
I love the trees you've posted so far, as Caitlyn22 said, they are all like brides! Or princesses! All beautiful :T
Here are the decorations I've made so far this year

Caitlyn I adore your festive room:) it's so cosy yet modern. I just love it. If your DH could make my room look like that with his camera it'd be a miracle. Ha x
Petabear and Ruth_honey I'm popping onto amazon daily they seem to be adding cheap/ free booksThank you.
Now Feisty and Linky you both need a very stern talking too (again) It is perfectly natural to feel this way, just like a performer being nervous stepping out on stage. If Robbie William can bite the bullet and do his thing then you two can. Your goods are as the lovelies have already said unique and amazing, you should be very proud of yourselves. Cos we are:) xxxThe secret of Christmas
