 just stopped by to say hello

Hi Bookworm, thanks for stopping by
Edinburgher - left you a post in your diary about DY. My set day for eBaying is Sunday, you can/must tell me off if I haven't listed anything by then.
Despite it being payday, there really isn't much to say from meQuidco are paying me £3.13 which I will round up to £5 and put in the non-savings/mortgage account so we have access. I've stupidly stashed all our money in an ISA again so now we need access to it I'll have to take it out which means I can't replace it later in the year
We hardly have any money that isn't in the ISA so I can't even nab it from another account temporarily until we get paid over the next few months. The only possible solution is whack everything on the 0% credit card which is interest free for another 12 months and re-pay ourselves as and when we get paid over the next few months. I'm too sad to take the money out of the ISA when it looks so healthy!
I think I'll use the 0% card and our spare wages in the next for months and try to preserve the savings if possible. There we go..decision made!Plus...the less money I feel like we have the better I do at spending less
Waiting for some quotes back on work on the house and hoping they will be reasonable.
Today I will:
- once again be tackling my office
- washing the bed sheets and changing the bed
- putting the washing away
- seeing a friend
- topping up the electricity
- wrapping Christmas presents if I have the time
Interestingly we are using more electricity now I'm at home more but the savings are still much better than me driving to work each day. I save £25 a week in Petrol (or more!) and we seem to be spending about an extra £5 a week on electricity. Another reason why we should all not go to work0 -
Hi there Ammonite
Since iv finally worked out what DY means:doh: I have had a look into it and although a bit time consuming, I think i could have a crack at it - can you tell me tho how you can see what are level 1 items? I can only search for things, i dont know how to see what is in what level?
As you can see i have a lot of learning to go with this!..

Hi Vala-Mal-Doran
Sure - you click on DYCommunity at the top of the screen, then click DYMiles on the left hand column, half way down the next page are 3 green boxes with different levels, click on each one and you'll get directed to sub-categories within the levels.
I wrote some advice for newbies HERE
Equally don't let people upset you about your reviews - whilst they may be right about lack of details in your reviews etc. some people have a bit of a power trip over newbies which is why I recommend leaving it until your newbie status has gone - take it on the chin and ignore them if they are being mean and listen to them if they have suggestions on how to improve. You don't have to write long essays to get good reviews (in fact the long ones bore me silly sometimes) but as long as all the details are there concisely then that should be enough. I'd be happy to look at your reviews and offer advice if you want me to. It gets much easier as you get into it - I promise!0 -
Thanks Ammonite, I have done my first review, im sure it was rubbish but have rated a couple and will now leave it a month to lose the newbie tag and then start doing a couple a week as I can see a lot of things on there that I have in the house. Its a big payout threshold tho, I hope I can make it up soon - it would be very useful.Simplify and then Simplify some more!0

If you want to PM your username I'll rate your reviews if you like
There is no reason not to keep reviewing as you'll still earn points as a newbie but might only get ~10 rates back whereas you'd probably get around 20-30 normally. It's up to you. You do have to rate people back really - it's definitely a "scratch my back" kind of system!
Payout for cash is £50 which is a long hard slog I'll be honest. The £20 Amazon vouchers feel so much more within reach!0 -
Payday Number 2 in the ammonite household. Need to do a money shuffle later.
Have topped up the electricity which will last the month and took out some cash to use for our "social" fund this month. When it's gone, it's gone. I think the area we may be able to save this month is on petrol..only about £30 but better than nothing as we have barely used the car and have no major driving plans!
Returned something to Amazon and re-bought it for £10 cheaper. I've been tracking the price for weeks and as soon as I bought it at a good price, it came down another £10 so I sent it back and bought it again. £10 saved which should go into savings I guess but can be added to the Christmas fund.
Almost on £12 on DY again. £38.40 on Onepoll....soooo close to the £40 payout - hopefully I make it before Christmas that would be great!
£150 to pay to a workman today - still hanging on without paying it out of our savings
Still got the office to sort out<-- priority today!
Lots of parcels being delivered from Amazon - I started whistling that tune today "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmasssss" - the weather has gone colder here - icy windscreen this morning and all these parcels just waiting to be wrapped gets me so excited!!!0 -
Colder here today to...still lots of Christmas shopping to do...
