The loan you are paying back, it's in the name of the ex's father right?
Is she paying her half of this loan?
If not why are you paying her father her share!0 -
Ouch shift work, that's a hard one.
Same as above see if you can swap out on mobiles. I used to pay a bit more and bought of mine due to being close to the end and dropped my bill by half.
Is it nights or days you do, is it possible to find some bar work?0 -
Sorry I posted before I read all of your posts.
If your credit is so bad! and it's getting worse daily, you don't expect to take a new credit soon and you have nothing to loose.
Why don't you start token payments on the unsecured debts?0 -
Have you thought about going bankrupt?Snootchie Bootchies!0

This might sound a bit underhand but this is what I would do.
Make a note of exactly what your ex should be paying. Send her a copy and ask her what she is going to do about it. Show her parents what is happening to.
Tell her father that you want your ex to pay the full amount of the loan each month so long as you are paying her share of the other debts.
For you to be paying her share of the other debts while paying her father is very noble, but you won't be able to keep this up for long.0 -
I would take drastic action in your case. I am in no way advocating one doesn't pay their debt by what I say, but in some instances, its impossible to pay it. That's just the way it is.
I would write to all my creditors if I was you, telling them that I just cannot afford to pay and I will in future, be sending them £1 token payment. NOT for the car loan though, you need that car to get to work. I agree, working 50 hours per week and sinking more as each week passes is no good. Its making you ill, depressed and by the sounds of it, suicidal. Suicide is not the answer! This will pass one day, trust me on that. All bad things pass, time passes, things improve. Never take your life over debts. Owing money just is not worth that sacrifice.
Never mind what they tell you that you have to pay, tell them you will be paying them £1 per month from now on and they can do what they like! They will not do a lot, honestly. Threatening letters, ignore them. Read them and bin them. Ignore your door, so if they come calling they don't get a response. Easy. I used to work in the credit industry so I know what they can and can't do and they can't do diddly in the great scheme of things.
Your credit will be trashed for 6 years, it is anyway, so no more loss there. Don't take on any more credit ever, unless its a car loan for a car to get to work or a mortgage for a home of your own one day. Payday loans are evil, you offered lower payments, they refused, so send them £1 a month and stuff them! They can't do a lot to you. They can do diddly to you, understand that. They use psychological games to try to get people to pay, most of it empty threats. Learn to let it wash off your back and tell yourself that you are going to deal with these people in the only language they understand - ignore them as they have ignored you!
Take back your income for you, pay them all (apart from car loan) £1 a month, Do everything by letter, change your number on phone or just ignore the phone or pick it up and scream in their ear when they speak, they'll soon go away! Fight back, get your mojo back and stand up to this situation, you can. Your life is precious, you only get one, start today to take control back, kick fear in the backside and give them only what you can afford, £1 a month! Then let them threaten all they like!0 -

yes the loan is £256 per month. she is paying £100 per month as she said i had an extra £2000 loan out of it for a car deposit.
i cant drop the tariffs they are at bottom. one is up in july, but i just do not have the cash to pay it off.0 -
thankyou suburbanwifey.
i feel that if i just pay £1.00 my credit history will still keep getting worser. i want to start to improve it as soon as i can as i know in the next 5 or 6 years ill want a mortage, but i also want to be debt free by then. it feels like theres no end to everything.
to be honest i dont even know who i owe money to anymore. i cant get on my credit report to find out as i have used them as trials before and i need to pay £15 to find any information,
and i know if i pay them just a £1 they will still keep defaulting me and putting on interest which i simply dont want to happen0 -

i cant go bankrupt because techinically i should have enough money to pay off my creditors.
and if i do that they will seizze my car which i need for work, and i need a newish car because of the distance to and from work every day0 -

Yes, they will keep defaulting you but accounts cost money to run and when it is apparent that you won't be paying, they offload and sell pretty quickly.
Based on the figures you have given, you won't be debt free in 6 years anyway, even if you were (a lottery win) your credit will be ruined anyway, you need to understand that. The first time a default is registered your credit is ruined for 6 years. There is no purpose to you destroying the next 6 years, the worst has happened already. Now its damage limitation. If you pay 1 pound or full amount, your credit is ruined anyway, this is why so many are able (and do) to run away from their debts totally, lie low for 6 years and its all gone.
You need to do whats best for you but inaction isn't getting you anywhere, I gave you a solution that will get you out of this mess the easiest way. I respect your views that its not for you. But doing nothing, the problem will not go away and if I was you, I would spend that money to get those credit reference sheets, how can you make a plan of action when you do not know the full, accurate situation? Pay it and then you know what you are dealing with, that is money well spent.0
