We've been a couple of times, first week in January so the kids went free, we went by coach (16 hours!) with Leger who were fantastic.

First time we got a free upgrade from Santa Fe to Cheyenne which we thought was brilliant, second time we got free upgrade to Hotel New York which we thought was luxury (maybe we're easy to please??!!).

My sister has stayed in Santa Fe & Sequioa Lodge, she said Santa Fe was great & Sequoia Lodge lovely.

Yes the park is busy & yes it's expensive to eat & drink but it's Disneyland.

You will have a fantastic time, my other half needed convincing to go in the first place but he loved it as much as the kids!

Now you've put it in my head to book!
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

Oh & if you want to keep the kids happy at lunch time & not spend too much there's always McDonalds!

i went to disney paris this easter and stayed in the santa fe and i thought it was ok (2 adults) but didnt really spend much time in the room however it was clean and comfortable. Quickest way from the airport to disney was by the really fast train (TGV) which you can get from the airport (you have to get on the airport bus which will take you round to the station) i think its terminal 2 but could be wrong. The TGV is a bit more expensive than the coach but it takes about 6 mins from CDG airport to disney probably even less... enough time to have a quick sit down. We only got the TGV cos the que for the coach was full of tired irritated children and seemed like it could be a hot and unconfortable journey. If i also remember right the price of the ticket varies depending on the time of day you travel. On the way back we bought our tickets for the TGV in advance so we could maximise our day at disney without having to spend time queing for a train ticket. we also took our luggage with us to the train station on the morning (train station is near disney gates but hotels are bus ride away) so we could come straight out of disney and get onto the train without having to do the bus journey back to the hotel.

We prebooked a character meal at the Lucky nugget the first time we went, but not the others, and to be honest the prepay price is approx the same as paying when you're there. Buffalo Bills is a good night out. The meal and show last about 1 1/2 hours, and you get a free cowboy hat!!! It's not quite as much as you can drink, as they walk along to refill you about twice. I think it's expensive, but glad I went.

We have been 4 times and going again next year with four kids (2 under 2's). We have flown and done eurostar (both fine) and the journey from Paris on the train is absolutely no bother as long as you know where to change (Chatelet les halles). We never stay in Disney hotels, opting for hotels a couple of metro stops away (again, no problem). Good thing about out of disney hotels is a) they are cheap, both in terms of room price and also when you want any refreshments, b)most do an evening buffet "all you can eat" meal, which is great for everyone, quality has always been high and c) nice(for adults) to escape from the ra-ra-ra of disney for a few hours.

The only downside (in my opinion) is that the hotels are often fairly quiet at night, my oldest two would prefer non-stop full on entertainment and noise in a packed mainly english environment. It's a tough world :-))

The Kyriad in Esbly is a bit basic (but supercheap) and not on the metro line. The Quality hotel in noisy-le-grand is better (but 5 mins walk from metro). We are trying the pierre et vacances apartments next (mentioned in an earlier post at val-d'europ).

Finally, I don't think the food prices/quality were THAT bad either but we did do the "eat plenty of breakfast kids because your dad won't fork out those prices" thing.

I LOVE Disneyland - and so do our kids!

Stopped outside Disney, Santa Fe and Kyraid.
Going back again in the new Year and making a decision between the My Explorers and the Val d'Europe (Family is very large now and we need a room for 6!). Rooms are all AOK - you are only sleeping in them and they are not that small really. Comfortable and clean is all you need. Santa Fe was the busiest out of season place - rammed at breakfast.
Fill up on masses of breakfast and take some with you. We take flasks and fill up with their hot chocolate in the morning to take with us during the day.

Food in the park is not cheap - but as another poster mentioned its better than some places (ie Brewsters) you get over here! The reason you see it as so expensive is that you are eating out everyday rather than occasionally - its this every day that adds up!

We have also done the buffalo show, but we wont be going this time with the kids, the little ones are too young! It is a good show.

Gift shops are not cheap either! Lots of them - and dont bother shopping around in Disney, all the prices are the same. However, different paces have different items so it is worth checking them all out if you are looking for something in particular.

I must reccommend having your photo with Mickey. Its worth the queues - the kids will neve forgive you if you dont and will never forget it if they do!

I like both Parks - Studios have Cinamagic which is actually quite good! Check out the Art of Disney Animation - it starts with a boring trip around the drawing bit and "live" studio, but ends with a "game" place where you can build your own rollercoaster and ride it on a simulator!
    The stunt show is fab!

One major thing - whatever time of year you go, avoid weekends. The french always decend on the weekend and it becomes really really busy - it is very noticable. When you are only having a few days away, you dont want to waste too much time queueing.

I love it at Disneyland its just so magical...

The eurostar is definitely the best way (imo) to get there! I have flown, driven and be by eurostar and have to say its the best way to travel there!!
In this trusted place U can erase
Every tear that ever rolled down your weary face
All the time U waste in that paper chase
Is time better spent in these arms of mine

we went about 5 years ago BY COACH it was an awful journey would not recommend it by coach but the price was £189 PP so you do get what you pay for.. Although we stayed (in with the price) in the new york hotel actually in disneyland and that was fab -i recommend the hotel

Watch out...a few years ago when we used this service to return from our hotel
Sante fe, there was a picket line outside the gate and our coach was held up for 40 minutes.Best way to Disneyland Paris is the Eurostar straight to the park gates. The luggage is also taken to the hotel for you so that you can go straight into the park from approx 13.30 when the train pulls in.
  • We are off to Disneyland Paris tomorrow and are debating on whether to take 1 or 2 of our pushchairs. I can't seem to find the prices of pushchair rental anywhere - could any recent visitors please advise how much it is please? Also, I can't remember what the strollers are like in Paris - just singles or doubles too? Any comments much appreciated.
