disneyland paris

We are looking into the possibility of going to disney paris. If you have been please could you tell me where you booked it and if you got any discounts.
I'd also like to know what you thought of the hotels - we'll probably go to cheyenne or santa fe - if you've stayed at these please give me your opinions.

We'll need to go by eurostar - so opinions on that too please.

Sorry for all the questions but this is a big expense for us and I want to make sure I book the best for our money. Thanks for looking!

Were going in 3 weeks time , we've been once before .
Saved a lot of money by booking travel and accomodation seperately . We travel from Newcastle so we are flying and staying at the Seqoia Lodge which is very adequate - its within walking distance plus there is the bus which travels around Disneyland every 10 mins or so . If you have a credit card try and see if they offer any discounts on hols .We have a NatWest Advantage Gold Card and have paid approx £700 for 4 nights plus passes ( Flights worked out at about £500 for 4 (2 kids over 11 = adults ) You may get cheaper flights from Easy Jet - probably worth checking against Eurostar . The only thing we have to organise is travel to and from Disneyland from CDG Airport and there is a transfer coach every 40 mins or so at approx £70 return for all 4 of us . This may not be the cheapest way to go to Eurodisney but it saved us at least £400 against all the "package" deals on offer -

We stayed at Sequoia - it is a bit tacky, but the bedrooms were fine and comfortable. It's certainly the cheapest of the all the hotels.

One thing we found is that the food at the park is really horrifically expensive - and the queues are terrible. The most reasonable place we found to eat was the fish and chip shop - can't remember what it was called. But even that's pretty expensive. They have a captive market, of course.

However, we had the most wonderful weekend. Hope you do too!

We stayed at Santa Fe about 8 yrs ago. Wasn't the best place I've ever stayed in but clean and comfy.
Agree with HC, food was a bit pricey. Still had a good time though and the kids loved it, especially the parades.

I took my family and drove down to disneyland paris in march 2000, it was good fun, we where upgraded from the davey crocket lodge as it had been destroyed by strong winds in dec 1999, to the cheyenne (not sure of name)

we took squash (undiluted) and added it to bottled water (which we bought at hyper market on the way)
i would suggest you fill up with the buffet breakfast, and take extra so that you some thing to eat whilst in the park. as the cost of food in the park is over priced!!!!
we also took small stuff, like crisps, biscuits etc
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

actually I thought compared with our theme parks, and our days out in Paris , the food prices at Disneyland Paris were not that bad.

I stayed at the Santa fe it was fine - you only want a bed for the night after all!! I found that if you went to your complimentary breakfast and made yourself lots of hams rolls etc and slipped them in your bag it lasted you quite a while. Personally compared to a lot of places over here I found the food not too bad. Try and eat before 11 or after2 or you will wait for ages in queues. The Macdonalds is ok too and I think it was Annettes Diner which wasn' bad for evening meal and entertainment. Have fun!!

We went to Disneyland Paris at Easter. Flew with BMI Baby from Manchester and stayed at Kyriad Hotel, literally just 10 mins by free shuttle bus from Disney. The cheaper Disney Hotels are about 8 mins away from Disney - before you go, from looking at the brochures you expect them to be 2 right next to the park and people are usually shocked how far away they are.

We booked the Kyriad on a website called Hotelclub.net.

We did the whole thing - 4 flights, 3 nights at the Kyriad (paying £100 a night) and all passes for around £750. The brochure price is double this.

We are going back next year and are going to stay at some apartments (fairly newly built) that are one stop from Disney on the train (literally 2 minutes). I can't remember the name now but they are on the Hotelclub.net website. We are going to go in June next year (this June they are at the unbelieveable price of around £40 per night).

You get really sick of continental breakfast and the food at Disney (overpriced and no variation). This way we can please ourselves.

For cheap food I agree that the Mc Ds just outside the park entrance ( you cant miss it) is great value, similar in price to over here. Anettes Diner also near the entrance is also good value - try the Elvis icecream for dessert or a snack its meant to serve 2 but served the 3 of us big eaters easily! also if you want to be really cheap ( and im afraid we did :'() take pot noodles with you! the hotels provide kettles and you can have a tasty cheap snack in no time!!

We stayed at the Hotel New York in January. This was great because January was cheap, the Hotel was near enough to the park to come back for a rest during the day, and the kids loved the ice rink in the evening. The down side was that they don't provide a kettle in room, so take a travel kettle and a few tea bags etc - this would have saved us quite alot of dosh. Also, the bus from the airport was expensive and for the return 20 minute drive we were asked to allow 2 1/2 hours. It would have been cheaper and easier to hire a car, even for that short drive. However, Charles de Gaule is a bit out of the question at the moment!!! Hope this helps!

We went in easter and stayed at the newport bay. £300 per night including entry for 2 adults and child to park. The hotel was PACKED and tacky. We spent 2 nights there, and you didnt get a great breakfast. The only benefit of the disney hotel was the photo opportunities you get with the characters. The swimming pool was horrid and changing rooms poor.

We went and spent 2 nights at the holiday inn. Absolutely brilliant, close to disney. The rooms have special kids beds which my daugher loved. About £80 per night and the pool was much nicer. Decent tv stations too, and childrens entertainers in the evening. The hotel is only a few months old. Dont bother with disney hotels go here instead and pay for your passes yourself, there are deals when you get there ie 3 days for hte price of 2 on entry. Pay for everything with a cashback card. Has a regular and quick bus service which is better than disney ones and less people on it.

Take loads of food and drink in as its awful and queues horrid, although disney dont allow this. There are lockers so you might want to stuff your food in there and eat it outside the park where its allowed, like the french. The shopping mall nearby is fantastic and has good cheap restaurants, but dont bother with the food in the park itself. There are plenty of forums with info do a google search "eurodisney forums".

Its huge so wear comfortable shoes, its good value for money if you tackle it sensibly ie without disney hotels and food!

McDonalds is good value, dont bother with planet hollywood. Best ride Rock'n'rollercoaster. Dont bother with star tours!

Fasttrack tickets essential. Get there early and you can get on the rides easily, do the big ones early.

Drop me a line cstephenson at orange dot net if I can answer any more questions - we took the car.
