Checked the bank this morning and balance was £0.00. So i assumed i was overdrawn by a few pennies as a bill was due out this morning, so quickly transferred £10.50 that i owed my main account from school funds and it was still at £0.00:( ARGH!!! Had to transfer over £50 from PANIC fund (and i was in a panic by this point) and i have £47 left in the account so it was only a few quid under. Now i have to pray that they don't charge me for being over drawn for less than a day. Also that they didn't send my DD back unpaid. I also only have £46 due to me before pay day now
and i owe the panic fund £50! I also have 2 more DD's due out to the tune of £40 so in reality can only pay the panic fund £7 BUT then that means no more food top ups, which isn't going to happen.
The overspends i've worked out thus far are on:
swimming -24 (i ended up paying for demonic niece)
books for kids- 16
food top ups - 40+ (haven't worked this out properly yet but am guesstimating around 40 over budget!)
all uniforms were paid for out of school fund budget. car was paid for from car fund. so i can't think where else i have overspent.
DH phone was £43 instead of £20 so £23 overspend there
over all this is £103 (by quick mental calculation may be wrong there....) so yep i've overspent and budget has been blown out of the water this month! NOW to do a stock take of cupboards later and see if we can get by on perhaps a £10-15 top up next week only so i can claw back some damage! grrr!!
Ok off to nursery now, then coffee morning (no breakfast for me today!) then my daughter's graduation from nursery  and home to make cakes (free!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Right-O am off! Will be back later, with probably more spends i have forgotten about :eek::eek::eek:
You are quite simply the hottest person re: budgets I know:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. It might be stressing you out now, but look back to before your LBM - you would have overspent way more than £103, have an ever increasing debt and wouldn't have thought twice about it.

So glad it's not just me with an empty account Skint
(shouldn't really be thankful for someone else being poor though should i :rotfl:)
Pinot- i originally bought the books cos i had no ink & no paper and thought it would just be cheaper to buy the work books as the ink for our printer is twenty odd quid and seems to last 5 mins  But we have found some online ones that you can fill in on line and it will mark you :T And we're working our way through the English book one section at a time
Gargrave you are right (as usual) and i was just panicking. I've still not logged on to make sure everything is on my spreadsheet though that goes through the bank. It's so tedious and the spreadsheet seems to have taken over itself and there are little tabs for all sorts of things that i don't even really understand :rotfl::rotfl:
Well today i have been to the bank to pay £8 cheque in (better than nowt you know!) and been to breakfast. Declared I was nil by mouth for the morning and my friend bought me a breakfasti felt so bad as had said i'd already eaten and was fine but she knows of my financial situation and that just made everything worse lol cos now she thinks she has to help me out
:o . oh well, i said thank you (lots!) and then went off to dd graduation, the sun held out and was lovely
...we're back home and making cakesI forgot to ask how many are in her class so i shall just send her in with 15/16 cupcakes in the morning and hope it is enough. I also had no self -raising flour  but it was ok, 'Yahoo, answers' taught me that i only needed plain flour & baking powder :T the first lot are out and look ok- not eaten one yet but they look fine. Also just put a great big sponge in so i can make a victoria sponge with it :T This is for me (oh and the kids
) which is a good job cos looking at the oven it is overspilling out of the tin, think i was a little too 'baking powder' happy there :rotfl::rotfl: so long as it tastes ok i don't care!
Washing is drying on the line, although it has started spitting with rain a few times so i best get it in soon.
I also sat down the local breakfast meeting place to wait for the chef's son to turn up :rotfl: I know he is around DS1 age and also goes to boarding school so has only a few friends round here too. So i did what any good interfering mother does and arranged a play date for them (they are 13 & 14)ds1 looked VERY embarrassed. But he should know me by now and i talk, talk, talk, rubbish! DS1 by comparison is so quiet when around people he doesn't know that he just sat there so I had to instigate the conversation several times  BOYS! Anyway their play-date is at the swimming pool at 5pm it's at the end of our road and he has a free pass so he can go there as much as he likes
Jacket potatoes for dinner (again) with left over chilli & salad.
I need some card from somewhere to make a card for dd nursery teachers (no money to buy one  and a personalised one is always nicer ) so will rustle up an old cereal box or something:eek:
Anywho must go rescue cake, it looks HUGE. and see how the kids are doing in the garden. The dog also has an upset tummy so must keep an eye on him too. Busy, busy. DFW you have put me to shame - I was threatening to bake cakes this afternoon, but lack one thing (icing sugar). Will just haul my butt to the shops and buy some then I can drink tea and eat cake whilst listing my eBay tonight
(and maybe some vino;)).

Have saved the Victoria Sponge
it is held together with buttercream icing & jam :rotfl:
I've finished filling in the spreadsheetsand have 'found' some money that can be used this month. I get child benefit each week. And on my spreadsheet i budget for 4 weeks of child benefit each month. This month there will be 5 payments though not 4 :T so that is £47 extra
Pending on my account is £51 from ebay. I will transfer that straight into my emergency funds so am square with that from stealing £50 today
Then on Monday I will get child benefit of £47, I also have £10 cash on me - so will have £57 total...
I will use this to pay for a dd due out - £20
and a top up shop up to £20.
so that is £40 spent...so will have £17 left to last me.
If ds's birthday next weekend is dry i will take him to town for a picnic in the park or take him to the local one. If not i want to keep this money so i can take him to soft play for a few hours.
The Monday after which is 2 days from pay day i will get another lot of child benefit which so long as everything goes to plan can then go to the emergency funds to top it back up. If not, well emergency will be where it was and no extra, and all bills have been paid and everything is square till next month.
*phew*
Budgeting is hard, tedious, work.
Still have items on ebay so hoping for a bit extra there
ON next month's budget i've also not included the tenancy money. Want to get some jobs on the house done (other house not this one) before winter kicks in (outdoor guttering jobs) so am hoping it will come in under £250 as that's all i will have!
Have put aside £15 for dh each week whilst he is away. He can buy tobacco with that and whatever else. I should be left with £140 for each week to live on after that. Not much if the weather is rubbish so hoping it picks up!!!!!!!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Totally agree. I was lucky enough to get lots of cards and gifts today as it was the last day of term, but the best thing I got was a lovely handmade card. It had my name written in glitter on the front and lots of feathers and pompoms etc stuck all over it.

It must be the week for nada in the bank accounts - £2.59 in mine  with over £200 to go out next week.
I missed keeping track of everything for 3 days, and come back to financial chaos :rotfl:
Good to hear you're culinary skills are in overdrive, I think we need to do some baking here too.0
