It really was bad but really glad she gave the money back eventually.
I found out this morning that my sons operation is on thursday. We have been waiting 2 years for this (he was missed off follow up list and therefore never got asked to come back until i kept pestering them) so to be given 4 days notice is not great - especially having no car to get there - we have begged for lifts and babysitters for my DD's for the day and evening. I feel exhausted now and looking forward to my bed. OH away tonight so i get the bed all to myself
Your niece sounds like she needs a good dose of disapline - wonder what her school teachers will think - dont think they will put up with that for longMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

(and she went to Montessori nursery so not sure if she will continue that into school -in which case i bet she will get away with murder as it's all child centred and they do what they like don't they!) xxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Ah thank you - nothing serious he had op when 2 to bring undescended ball down to abdomen and now it needs to come all the way down. Needs to be done but not life threatening. Was hoping to do it before he starts school (sept) so in one way i am glad its happening now, its just the lack of notice - pre op is tomorrow at 9 and i have already told them that its just not possible for me to get there - receptionist seemed to think it was the fact i would have to get a bus that was making it hard - she was quite rude - other lady i spoke to totally understood as she has 4 kids herself so understands its not easy to drop everything at such short notice.
I guess if your nieces school just let her get away with things she will be a bigger handful the older she gets and at some point in her life she will get a rude awakening that that is not the way people act in real lifeMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Have just watched step brothers with ds1 if you haven't watched it i thoroughly recommend it when you are in a rubbish mood
it's made me feel loads better lol
:rotfl:
Well as i said DH is away now so MSE is once again my home in the evenings (sorry bout that) we've known for a while that dh was going on the olympics but others have only just heard with 24 hours notice to pack. I heard today that someone had to cancel their wedding because of it. I expect to hear in a while (once the olympics gets going) that the aRmy panicked a little and lots of men will be told to stand down and will be waiting around. Lots of holidays have been cancelled too. I also heard that the accomodation hasn't been completed in time so they've all been told to take sleeping bags and will be sleeping on the floor.
So that kind of puts my bad weekend into perspective. Others have it worse!
And i now have a roadworthy car so won't be stuck in all summer...i've also made plans to go to London for a few days in August. Mum will have the 2 little ones whilst i take ds1 to the theatre (already booked cheap tix) and i have planned to meet an old friend there too :T so kills two birds with one stone. And only one lot of petrol and expenses. Thought i was being rather mse
Then i shall stay at mums for the night rather than a swanky hotel that i can't afford and go see nan & family the day after. Then my sister is due down on the 3rd day so i will wait to see her too. So all family visits out of the way and only one load of travelling :money::T
The week after my very good bestest friend is coming to mine so long as she doesn't chicken out - she has only just passed her test and lives in a nice quiet little town and doesn't really think much to motorways. SO if i can convince her all will be well that will take a few days up :T
From the middle of August dh may be home if he is not on the para-olympics. if he is more looking for stuff to do with just me & the kids. I'm hoping the sun might shine then the beaches up the road are always a good bet!
Oh and talking of the para olympics, the kids were playing out on Sunday and the neighbour came out. He has 2 false legs (afghan accident) and he was so sweet and patient. He was letting the kids touch the false legs and was telling them why he has them (not any gory stories, fear not!) and so my dd has been talking about the man with 'pretend legs' ever since. Things like that really make me realise that my life is not bad
Anyway i write too much and i doubt anyone ever reads to the end of these gigantic posts i write :rotfl: but it's therapeutic for me so i'm afraid i'll continue to do it:rotfl: gonna catch up on others weekends now and hope noone's was as bad as mine :rotfl:
