Glad you mentioned washing powder again - I think I have made a bit of a boo-boo again:rotfl:
So off we went at the weekend to Aladdins Cave on the understanding that I would stock up on the washing powder ingredients as I had nearly run out. But do you think I checked your thread for the measurements before I went.........No of course not that would be too easy :rotfl:
Nearly had a heart attack when there was no soda crystals on the shelf but luckily they had some in the store room :T
So i thought last time I got 1kg of each - this time I better get 3kg  (well the storage box is quite big and I know the powder works better then my usual tablets).
So.............I have 6 boxes of Borax (only 500g each so 3kg) but didn't realise the Soda Crystals are 1kg each so I have 6kg  of them plus 6 bars of soap.
Last time I did a kilo each of Borax and Soda Crystals to 3 bars of soap so I reckon I can do 2kg of each to 6 bars of soap :j
But I have got home from work - DH and DD been at home all day and they have attempted to make it without instructions (can you see a pattern emerging:rotfl:) and they have done 3 boxes of Borax = 1.5kg, 3 boxes of Sodas Crystals = 3kg and 3 bars of soap :rotfl::eek::eek::rotfl:
Guess I better get grating :rotfl:
Next time I better get it right - I am also expecting MI5 round due to all the Borax I have :rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: this made me laugh! I often get dh to make it for me when he's nothing to do and he always gets the measurements wrong  I think it's best i just do it myself from now on :rotfl: AND :rotfl::rotfl: at the MI5 popping round to see where all the borax is!! I said the same to hubby when I bought it in bulk last time  they've not turned up yet so I think i'm safe:rotfl:

Hi DFW321, I have spent time reading your diary. You have come a long way and should be very proud of your achievements.
I read, with interest, your DH spending in dribs and drabs, and then wondering where it has gone, sounds just like Mr P as soon as he has any money in the bank......
My plan has been to make washing powder too but I haven't been able to find soap bars for grating. Do you have any recommendations? Or can I just use any soap bars?
ETA I have lots of soap bars left behind by people staying in the cottage.
I don't think I will ever have to by shower gel or shampoo again, I just can't be fussy when using up other peoples leftoversbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Afternoon PBthanks for popping in! My DH, as much as I love him, really does drive me around the bend with his spending/lack of focus/not watching the ball and then blaming me !!!
As for soap bars I use these ones... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Household-soap-125g-bars-Green/dp/B005BWXBTO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375889799&sr=8-1&keywords=household+soap+bars They are the cheapest i've found and do the trick cleaning the clothes! The borax & soda crystals are usually bought from there too purely because I don't go into town very often to get to robert dyaas (only place here that i've found that sells them).
I hope you have some success with it :T I failed on the Washing up liquid the other day and bought some as I was out of ingredients, i felt so guilty (not sure why) as i've been using my own cleaners, polishes & washing stuff for months now! Best get back on amazon and order some more essential oils so I can make some moreMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Afternoon,
today we took the dog & 2 smaller children to Mersea Island for a walk. There are sandy beaches and the dog is allowed to go on the beachthe weather wasn't looking good this morning but it turned out quite warm, we managed to catch some crabs (which we released back to the sea after) and we did have some small spends, around £10 in all for parking (everywhere was covered in yellow lines!), drinks & crab fishing net thing?! Not bad for a nice morning out.
We had lunch at home to save money and I had a huge energy crash and had to go to bed. I was literally seeing stars :starmod::staradmin:starmod::staradmin...after a quick nap i'm feeling much better! Think this kind of confirms that pizza is no good for my system :rotfl: that's all I had to eat with some orange juice so can't think of any other reason for it! Must get back to the gym too as I have far more energy with regular exercise!
Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, will check the weather reports first and decide from there. I still have the pizza vouchers (think i will be sticking to salad ) and also another set of cinema tickets (all from tesco vouchers)
DS2 has a bit of a cold so i'm trying to contain it just to him by cleaning his hands and nose every 5 mins :rotfl: probably won't work but I can tryMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I know DFW has answered already but thought I would let you know that the first time I made washing powder I brought normal bath soap - the cheap stuff - like Happy Shopper - they were 65p for 3 bars.
They were great - they didn't really have a smell to them - I hate soap with a passion, the smell makes me gag.
And my clothes were still clean.
This time I have brought Imperial Leather soap - they were £1.49 for 6.
I hadn't thought about using proper household soap:rotfl:0
