How is it that I've been scrupulous in encouraging my children towards equality, and one turns out pink and girly, and the other is a stranger to soap, and needs to run around constantly

    Penny. x

wierd isn't it - my poor dds are terribly girly and i have no idea what they're talking about most of the time but at least they've got each other - straighteners, extensions and shoes are all a mystery to me. My dsis has a boy and a girl and they are totaly stereotypical. Dsis is VERY ungirly and often got mistaken for a boy when we were kids - she is a blackbelt 3rd dan in Tae-kwondo and very sporty and yet has a frothy pink meringue for a daughter  poor dsis has to endure many dolly tea parties and long chats about fairies. 2yo dgs is a total boy and yet he lives in a female dominated world. The first word he said was "car" and he loves anything with wheels

    Afternoon Guys!

Sorry not posted earlier but we had to go and pick up my laptop 80 miles away:eek:    ...I didnt realise it would take so long and I feel pretty rough. Anyway, friend managed to salvage everything for me and am currently using with no problems:D I need to change the size of writing/pages and change the colour etc and dont know how too:confused: ...OH will know hopefully.

Have just put a washload on and DW is nearly ready to go. House pretty tidy...just needs a good clean.

Have a new agency coming tomorrow for a chat, so will see how it goes. Current cleaning compnay still not got back to me and the cleaner that came last week called this afternoon to say that she wouldnt be able to make it Wednesday....WTH???? OH said that we werent happy with the clean or the agnecy, then she offered her services off the books.....they are so proffesional...NOT:D

    Anyway, I have to go.

    Hugs to all.

    PP

Happy Birthday to those celebrating and hugs for those in difficulty

for those asking about slow cookers for veggies - well yes - although not strictly veggie I don't really cook much meat at home due to health concerns and the "poor baby baa-lambs" look that dd gives me if I do and i find mine a godsend especially for cooking dried beans.

Went to the shops today having decided to do a weekly shop instead of going every day - I ussually budget for about £7.00 per day but have done the whole lot for £17 - hope it lasts - should only need fresh fruit for the juicer and some veg later in the week. Met up with middle dd and as she's having youngest dd tonight so i can go to bingo she decided to keep her to save me the bother of going backwards and forwards. Her boyf's mum is coming with me - I've only met her once before so I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure she's very nice. CTC people messed up the allowance she gets for one of her children who has a disability and have just repaid her £21,000 according to dd'sboyf so i hope she'll bring some luck with her.
I also bought some green felt for dd's "recycle bin room with a view" that she's making for her small teddies. Apparantly it's for making the garden with. I can see this project expanding to an entire model village held together with sellotape. I also bought some crochet cotton for the neverending bedspread I'm making - it's a different make to the ususal one so i hope it will be ok. Luckily the shopowner wasn't there as she normally brings out loads of shiny happy things for me to covet so i got away with only buying what i went in for - dull!

wish me luck at the bingo :)

ooh moggins - just saw your post - you go girl - but if he's going don't let him get too comfy. I've been trying to get rid of exdh for the second time in three years - the first time i had to move so I hope it won't come to that. He was invited to come round for a couple of nights a week to sort himself out as long as he didn't get under my feet and paid his way - well its not quite working out like that and he's so blooming miserable too

Ooooh life just gets better! I was just trying to do my CV and had to ring XDH to ask him a question about a company I worked for long long ago and I've just been offered his fiancee's car for £100 and it's taxed and tested!!
