yes I have as I have applied for a job in Boots so thought of the competition (Superdrug, loca chemists etc) & applied for a job in Primark so thought of Bon Marche, Peacocks, New Look etc.
Oh and I would never say Aldi or Lidl is cheap food as you are putting down the company, I would say it was good vaule food/products then compare them to other companies that do good deals like maybe ASDA £1 roll backs or something similar.
Thanks that is really helpful.0 -

Be savvy to stand out in your application, don't just write about competitors in the UK marketplace - show that you understand Aldi as a growing international company e.g look at this recent article on Aldi Australia and their competitors, this would be a good place to start some research.

Why do you want to work there? Only you can answer this. Aldi do, however pay very well. They have a graduate Area Manager scheme, where grads start on a £40k salary - quite impressive.0 -

Sorry, a pay-wall has cropped up in that link. if you can't access it through the link put "Aldi competitors" into Google News and it's the second article down.0 -

I would say Netto was also a competitor at that level. However, there have been various studies done on average baskets of shopping which have shown that budget supermarkets are not always cheaper than the others like Morrisons,Asda, Tesco etc.0

Tesco are clearly a big competitor. Ever seen the price comparisons with Aldi on the shelves in Tesco? I often laugh at them because they usually show the exact same price Tesco are charging.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0
