  • Oh Lil_me - I sympathise with the bruise. I had a spell where I was forever having blood tests and they could never find my vein. I used to end up with my whole arm covered in bruises. I always seemed to go on a day when students were there too so they had to have a go - which was even worse as they weren't quite so practised!

Anyway, got back into a little bit, although wish I had put a load of washing on last night (have economy 7 so always wash over night) as weather is lovely here - sunny and breezy so great weather for drying (oh my goodness I sound like my mother!).

Anyway, not feeling brilliant hence not at work but managed to start with the kitchen and so far it looks like this:

    Kitchen
    1. [STRIKE]Wipe down all worktops, cupboard doors[/STRIKE], and windowsill. oops forgot the windowsill so will do that in a mo
    2. [STRIKE]Clean top of cooker[/STRIKE], inside of fridge and [STRIKE]microwave[/STRIKE].didn't do inside of fridge as still clean from when I did it last week - eaten out alot so not been in there much!
    3. [STRIKE]Clean sink, draining board and wash any plastic drainers/cutlery holders[/STRIKE].
    4. [STRIKE]Sort out fridge make sure anything that needs using soon is at front[/STRIKE]did a shop yesterday and moved those things to the front then
    5. [STRIKE]Clean floor[/STRIKE].swept and washed

    Also:

    [STRIKE]unloaded (and re-loaded) dishwasher[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]sorted out plastic and and put it out for recycling[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]put away the bits of shopping I didn't get round to yesterday - so now space on the worktops[/STRIKE]!

Right, deserve a cuppa now and will tackle the bathroom when I've had a rest!

I'm afraid I don't seem to work from the "official" list but I do get everything done through the week - just on the wrong days!

Today I've done my bedroom. Washing done and blowing on the line. Bedroom dusted and vacuumed, together with landing and DD's bedroom.

Then I polished properly and vacuumed the living room, hallway and kitchen (wiped down all kitchen surfaces first).

I don't have a study but I dusted my computer desk which is in the hall.

Now watching the weather because one or two clouds are beginning to appear and we have been forecast showers. The washing is drying well so I want to leave it out as long as possible.

    Don't we all! :D
  • Just wondering - anyone any ideas for getting my stainless steel sink as good as new. It's not really as shiny as I'd like and has a few bits of paint and stuff on (DD doing art AS level and doesn't clear up after herself). Have used a stainless steel spray and also normal kitchen cleaner but not as clean as I would like (now I've got into this I find I am raising my own standards!)

Also what to do about the toilet - giving it a good scrub just now but think it needs more - think it's probably limescale in the bottom of it. Think I read that cotton wool soaked in vinegar and stuffed under the rim and left overnight was good - or did I imagine that?

Anyway, any help on the above would be appreciated.

Find it's helping the weight loss programme too - or is that a bit smutty:o

Seriously though, more energised so more motivated to do everything and want a nice clean house to show off.

All my washing is dry now! Folded and put away, even mended a couple of things (seams starting to come undone).

    Cooking lunch now.
