I think I tried a scrubby pad, but it won't hurt to try again I guess.
Thanks
Sounds as though the previous occupant had ingested a Dulux colours leaflet. Please post before and after shots!
How old is your house? OH and I are thinking about buying an older house next, and really aren't sure whether we can give up the convenience and warmth of a new house in exchange for a lot more space and a better location.
I find your energy an inspiration, I really don't know how you manage to do so much. If you carry on at your current rate you'll have renovated the whole street by Christmas.
Best of luck with the bathroom!

Another long work day but managed most of the list so am pretty chuffed with myself.
Did the kitchen (already pretty clean) in advert breaks of You Are What You Eat - the show that prooves you can shape chocolate into a gravestone and it will still look yummy!
Did hall after that which wasnt nearly as bad as i thought. I hope stairs werent supposed to be included with hall - now theres a safety hazard if i ever saw one. Edit: just saw tomorrows list so I guess that answers that. Better get home early tomorrow I think from the look of that list!Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.0 -

Finally cleaned the kitchen floor, it's only needed it for about 2 weeks, it would help if we got a door mat to go by the back door. Too lazy though to take the hoover downstairs will do the hallway when I do the stairs tomorrow.

i've had a rubbish day, am finding life hard at the moment. i think a lot of it has been sparked by a meeting i had the other night which upset a lot of people due to a particularly nasty man. on sunday i couldn't stop crying for no real reason.... and today has been pretty naff. i have worked 14 hours straight today
and the flat is a mess... woe is me!!!
need to get back on track with my flying
my dinner's in the oven (first chance to eat properly this eve, though did have a donut at the youth group..), at least as its a big quorn cottage pie it will do me another two days so save cooking
right, am gonna be positive. before bed i will at least make sure the kitchen is tidy, wipe down everything in there, and unpack my suitcase from the weekend.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

OH and I are thinking about buying an older house next, and really aren't sure whether we can give up the convenience and warmth of a new house in exchange for a lot more space and a better location.120 years, the area is a bit studentyfied but there are loads of pubs so I'm happy
I find your energy an inspiration, I really don't know how you manage to do so much. If you carry on at your current rate you'll have renovated the whole street by Christmas.I run on 4-5 hours sleep and caffeine!!
Best of luck with the bathroom! thank you!
Mermaid
We only moved here 20 months ago and it was filthy, had only had 3 rooms lived in over the last 6 years. The heating had not been used for 3 years and it was filled floor to ceiling in every room with junk.
So far we have.. *deep breath*
1. replaced the floor and joists which had wet rot in the middle room
2. replastered and decorated 2 rooms.
3. decorated a further 3 rooms
4. demolished and rebuilt the bathroom wall
5. added a new loo
6. totally gutted and refitted a new kitchen, including under floor heating and a slate floor.. looks amazing when it is clean!
7. installed an electric light in the front room
8. added a wall to make the 'through bedroom' a proper enclosed room.
9. moved loads of sockets and added a load more and added 2 lights on the landing where there were none.
10. Cleared the garden removed the air raid shelter (that took 2 weeks with a pecker!) topsoiled, turfed and paved it so it is useable.. I have pics of this somewhere!
The next jobs are.. replacing the floor joists and boards in the hallway and cover with terrcotta tile mosaics (£400), double glazing the whole house one window at a time (£3500 approx), replacing the ancient 2x 20 year old boilers with a more efficient (£3000 ish) economical combi.. AND.. last but by no means least.. a loft conversion!! to make us 7 bedrooms instead of the 5 we have now (£?? I dread to think!!)
When we set out to do things we do tend to go somewhat overboard!!!
I didn't realise just how much we have done.. but WOW!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Blimey Pigpen, that house sounds like a project and a half, bet it'll be worth it in the end of course. Part of me is pleased I still rent, because I am never happy with the way things are and if it was my house I'd have knocked walls down by now :rotfl:
Tomorrow need to add for me
Pack and post eBay items
Dailies and night time of course
Book conference
Contact lady I met today with details of carers support probably be a long convo, such a brave lady who has been through so much, has problems with youngest son, lost her husband 5 years ago and is blind herself.
Finish room plans and make a start with the moving aroundgoing to be task and a half!
One day I might be more organised...........
