I assured them I hadn't received them and they most definitely weren't signed for by anyone at my address. They made no quibble and re-sent the goods. Whoever signed for my goods (I'm assuming a neighbour) got some free goods!
Not necessarily - twice I've experienced City Link pretending they've delivered something and signing for the goods themselves.
The first time they signed as the name on the delivery label, but thankfully it was in the middle of the day so customer services chased the driver up and he sheepishly arrived with the package half an hour later.
The second time - two days before Christmas no less - they left it until after customer services were closed to mark the item as delivered, and signed with an 'x', so it was impossible to trace. Had to get a refund.0 -
I had something delivered yesterday by Royal Mail. I was getting emails and texts from them saying when my parcel would be delivered, and then got one in the afternoon saying "your parcel has been delivered". I got home, found no trace of the parcel, no calling card or anything. I had to go knocking on my neighbours door until, thankfully, one of them had taken delivery on it on my behalf. It's unbelievable that they hadn't left a card to say where they'd delivered it to. If my neighbour had been less honest, she could have bagged herself a set of £100 hair straighteners.0

It's good to hear that in these cases (previous few posts) that things did work out in the end. It's my biggest worry using ebay that I'll end up in a situation where I don't receive a package, but the courier has marked it as delivered, with a bogus signature. It has never happened yet.
I've only just had my first item that didn't arrive, but the seller refunded with no quibbles.
But if I keep on using ebay, the potential nightmare n the first paragraph could easily happen at some time.0 -
I have just tracked an order with Studio only to be told that it was 'delivered to porch' by Hermes. It is 1am now so I am not going outside to look but will be searching all over in the morning for my parcel. I will need to look everywhere because there wasn't even a card left and I was at home at the time it was supposed to have been delivered on Saturday, (11.40 according to the website).
I don't know why people use this company, they are rubbish. They need to be shut down. This time of year is when people rely on postal companies.
Well, that's a turn up. I just got my delivery from Hermes. The driver had his head down, mumbled something about it being 'delivered to another house' then handed it to me and swiftly went to his car.
At least I got my delivery in the end. :T0 -
Thought this might be best in the Ebay board
Had a card dropped through the door from My Hermes today, trouble is it was not filled in at all
The only thing i am waiting for is John Lewis, gave them a call and the item was posted via My Hermes and they checked the tracking and it says "Delivered to Porch"
JL said they will ring back tomorrow with an update, Anyone know what that means as i don't have a porch
We send 1000s with my hermes but state they are not allowed to leave our parcels in a supposedly safe places, in the past weve had parcels left just about anywhere,so beware !! as for customer service this has to be joint worst company ever with city link/yodel:rotfl:0 -

As a buyer or seller you are insured either with or without a signature ,but beware trying to claim against my hermes, they will ignore your claim for months unless you push them, they really need a good fine so they change their ways:(0 -
I had a parcel delivered by My Hermes today - wasn't aware that's who the seller was using, it just stated 'other 48 hour courier' - and there were no probs. Tbh, we've had a few come this way and no issues as yet (touchwood), unlike Citylink who broke an antique plant stand into four pieces, despite great packaging and ParcelForce who were unable (twice!) to locate our house, which is clearly signposted (we have no house number, just a name) and on a main road through the village
DH has also had a few issues with ipostparcels - when using them for his eBay business - who seem unable to collect on the pre-arranged day.......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0 -
as a courier myself it is not uncommon to recieve well over 150 parcels a day over a large area...we have a good relationship with customers and although in a rush i am always polite and will always find the time to help the elderly and impaired. Due to massive volumes its not uncommon to be working till 7.30. Some problems ive had as a courier are people saying they havnt received there parcel even though i gave it to them personally...parcels being booked for colection and then when you drive all the way to the address being told the parcel isnt ready. Being bitten by dogs....getting to an address and then finding a letter saying please deliver to a different address (where you have just covered) but id say 70% of people make it easy for us to deliver by leaving a special instructon on our scanners like "if out leave in shed" another problem you get is knocking on neighbours doors to find you just woke them up they dont like this too much!!!! Ive been known to spend 20 minutes on one job due to people naming there house but not bothering to have a sign this really bugs me as people sit down and nake the effort to call there house something but dont display it!!!!!! I said to a lady once "is this rose cottage"? She replied "yes" i said ive spent ages looking for you youve got no sign to which she replied " i know where i live" ......all the couriers i know work very hard and try to do a good job. Any parcels that dont get delivered have to come home with us to our homes and then reattempted so with high volumes its in our best interest to deliver them. Im in no way protecting couriers who are rude ect0
