I wonder how long before JL realise that their "cheap" delivery service is actually more costly than the previous agents...
If people/businesses want the cheapest price, then it is unreasonable to expect the best service.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Sadly you really need to check what courier a seller uses before you buy. I've had no end of problems with CityLink and I will not buy from anyone who uses them. This sounds like another one to avoid.
The final straw with CityLink was an item that didn't show up on the appointed day, and when I contacted them they said "we forgot to load it on the van, we'll deliver it tomorrow". I said "no you won't, because I'm going to be on holiday for a few days. Deliver it next Tuesday please". And they said, "no, we return items to the sender after 5 days". Which is exactly what they did. Muppets.Je suis Charlie.0 -
I came home the other day and used the tracking link provided by the company from which I ordered an item to see whether it would be delivered soon. This took me to the My Hermes site and I was most surprised to read the status as "delivered to porch".
No card had been popped through the door and we don't actually have a porch.
When I went outside to check, the parcel had been left at the side of a flower pot, near the front door. Just as well it didn't rain that day and that I bothered to check the tracking for myself or I'd never have spotted it there. I'm surprised it hadn't been stolen as it's in view of a main road.0 -
Well i found by item stuck between my fence and shed in the narrow gap today ! , JL have told me to keep both items now
if the driver had written on the card where it had been left then i or JL wouldn't have any problem, maybe the driver cant afford a pen0 -

Yes, it's a bit worrying to be told that something's been left in your porch when the porch is non-existent. As you say, a short note written on the card would have made a world of difference. My delivery driver didn't even bother with the card.
I do feel somewhat sorry for them, being paid so little. Maybe that makes them less bothered about getting things right.0 -

Nail and head.
MyHermes offer cheap prices because they screw the delivery drivers on rates. The only way that the drivers can make a decent wage is by slap-dash deliveries and cutting corners. This reflects badly on MyHermes, and in turn MyHermes end up with a litany of bad reviews online, and a trail of dissatisfied users.
Who can guess what the root cause of the problem is...?!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I am waiting on an ASOS order from Hermes, it says on the tracking "delivered to secure place" - any idea where that is? The porch is open so if they left it there it's been nicked, and I went through the bins (!!!). There was someone in when they came so am surprised they didn't answer the door. Do they deliver to neighbours? My neighbours are elderly and don't like people calling round, so feel nervous asking them.0

I'd give them a ring, Elvisia, to get them to ask the driver what on earth they did to it. If you get no satisfactory resolution, then I'd contact ASOS to let them know what happened and to ensure that you get your item (a replacement if necessary).0 -

Oh lord I had the exactly the same thing happen to me on the PS3 I bought from Amazon, "delivered to secure location" it had on their tracking site - wherever that was it certainly wasn't to me. The funny is that was added to the site 15 minutes after the "item left depot" comment and I live more than 50 miles away from their nearest depot, 50 miles in 15 minutes? Perhaps their vehicles are fitted with Warp Drive, who know.
I was in all day too, in fact I was in all week as I had the week off
Anyway after making a lot of fuss (even ended up talking to an Amazon representative in the US judging by their accent) I was sent another PS3 via a better courier and they had no trouble finding me.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0
