Oops sorry forgot to say good morning everyone, hope your day brings you something good.

Sir Frequent I would appreciate some decorating advice please.
I'm painting over some plain wallpaper and have bought the emulsion but do I need to use an undercoat first?
The paper is pale yellow and the new colour is pale blue.
    Thank you.

    Hi AMMat.

Would be tricky to go from yellow too blue without maybe 4 coats.

I'd use white emulsion as an undercoat, that will help neutralize the pale yellow and cost you less, needing fewer coats of the blue ( 2 coats of blue should do it ).

While your undercoating the walls, the skirting, window frame, door and frame can also be brightened up with emulsion ready for a nice gloss finish in a single coat.
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

oooh, I didn't know you could do this - we're in the process of repainting the stairs and I hate glossing, so this will save me hours if I only have to do 1 coat of gloss :j:j:j

Can't believe what I saw today on llandudno seafront. This couple were having a blazing row, calling each other all sorts. Then the bloke picked up a stick and started laying into his wife! Everyone just stood round watching. The police quickly turned up tho, but instead of arresting him they just started shouting at his wife as well. Then the bloke started whacking the policeman with his stick! Then a crocodile came up and ate all the sausages! Unbelievable!

my daughter reading over my shoulder read first bit then says "dad we are not going to llandudno monday seems to have gone well rough used to be so nice there":rotfl:

Can you seriously undercoat woodwork with emulsion and then coat it with gloss? I thought water based paint and oil based paint did not go together very well?

Sorry - meant to say Good Morning everyone! Didn't sleep well, too scared of rolling over and kicking OH's ankle!

Morning All , well done on the whoopsies clucky , I still believe that whoopsies are a major part of saving you £'s on everyday items , glitches give you ' reward ' items that sometimes don't feed the family and just expand waistlines , bogof's are not always food based but most whoopsies fill a hungry belly .

Silly comment no 1 - Shall we meet in the sports centre car park, and just take 1 car from there .......
Errrr NO, you could be some mad criminal, like I am going to get in a car with you.

Silly comment no 2 - Can I let you know a time tomorrow evening.....
