Had a £5/£50 till spit and thought there was no way I could spend that but then had a look and decided it was worth it with the use of some coupons and Brand Match I could hopefully get shop down closer to £30.
Went in today armed with my list. First problem, the Smirnoff 1litre that I had hoped to push up my shop as on website it was £20.89 was actually reduced to £14:eek:
Quick rethink and I found some alternatives to boost my shop. Not quite as much expected from Brand Match but still good, even after taking into account the Vodka actually being cheaper than T's.
Took my items to till to pay and got my BM voucher of.......74p:eek: !!!!!!! It should have been £6.91 according to my calculations. I am seriously annoyed about this and there is nothing to see where their figures have come from like there is with T's Price Match email. Spoke to CS but apparently they can't comment until the following morning so I guess I'll call then but then you have to factor in the cost of the phone call. Won't be experimenting with BM again, that's for sure!
With the S's BM, you need to think of it slightly differently. You need to think, if I had done the whole shop in a's or t's, then how much would the totals have been. S will then compare against the cheapest total, not each item individually.
E.g if the total shop in S was £20, the total in t's was £15 and in a's was £10, then the cheapest shop was a's which was £10 cheaper than S, so you would get a BM voucher for £10. It doesn't matter if say you bought some eggs as part of that shop that were cheapest at t's, as it's the total price for the whole shop that is compared.
Also if you phone S's CS, they couldn't be more helpful and will gladly go through each item with you.

Talking of Council collecting items for recycle/disposal.
I had to pay them £18 to take away a small freezer and an old TV last year. They charge £13.00 for the first item, then £5.00 for each additional item.
I got the council to take away our old sofa and chair a few years back and they charged £30 :eek::eek:0 -
Aaaand, check your Aquafresh coupons as mine say 50p off when you buy TWO products. So, unfortunately, not quite free.:starmod: DO IT NOW :starmod:0

Thanks everyone for your advice. As a one off I have used Hedrin tonight and will wash off in the morning. My son has had instant relief from that. Also brought a nit comb so will use that very frequently from now on. I can't believe how much the Hedrin was though £17.99 arghhhh.
Not really a good day as just got back from the vets as my doggy had her toe amputated last week and finally had the bandages removed. Blood is everywhere and it looks really bad. Called vets and they have advised to put a sock on it and bring her in first thing so looks like she will have to be operated on again tomorrow:(Now on the 5:2 diet.

catching up after a busy day...
be sure to check how much is in the pack... for example there is a prosciutto on 2 for £2, but there is twice as much in the normal 'tesco own' pack that is £1.60... so two of those + flop = 168g of yummy goodness for £2.20 as opposed to 2x30g for £2...0
