Funnily enough, by where the OH lives, theres a recycling thing down a real quiet dead end lane. the aluminium can one was half full the one day. I was soooooo tempted to have em all and then put em through the Tesco recycler. A lot of effort though for 400 or 500 points I thought. Easier to womble a few receipts.

HC went through a phase of collecting aluminium cans to take to the local scrap merchant in exchange for cash. Our local village pubs regularly put out bags of cans to be taken away by the council so it might be worth an ask.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

woo mine like purina, where do you get the link for this?

It was a while ago, I get the newsletter each day from Magic Freebies and it was through that. Tt took you to the Purina website to register and you had to fill in a questionnaire and they said you 'may' here from them.

I got an email last week to say I had been accepted.

Think you may be a little too late now, sorry.

I haven't paid for cinema tickets for years - DD works for Vue!! :j:j

I didn't even realise that 3D movies cost extra! Funny thing is that we have been going to see a lot of the kids movies and not so many of the adult ones!

That's because they charge for the glazes. Tried taking a previous pair with me asking if I could get in cheaper as I had my own specs, but they said no :(
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Ah ok, thanks. Same story with the mouthwash? I've still got plenty of toothpast from the superdrug clearance but could do with some mouthwash. Which one am I looking for?

It seems such an effort for the pence you'd get back though.

    [STRIKE]Morning [/STRIKE] Afternoon all :D

Well, it's been a while since I posted properly (apart from a quick one yesterday) - I can't keep up with you all! I've only managed to get on for short spells and kept getting further and further behind, so much as I hate doing it I've admitted defeat and have started again. I've made a few notes along the way although some of them will be a bit out of date now but I will post them anyway :o

Firstly, thanks to Motherbear for missing me! I don't post as often as others, so I was very touched that you noticed I hadn't been posting :A

French Knickers - beautiful photo of the robin on your hand - you certainly have a real talent there!

Nikkilala - so pleased that you are now driving again and giving Mr T a run for his money :rotfl:

Bubbs - sorry to hear of your evacuation due to the flooding :eek:I have had to abandon the rest of the catching up so I hope your house was safe in the end.

3dogs - great news about your new car :T

ToNik - the pups are gorgeous. Hope your DH is now recovering.

Spirallingdown (definitely should be UP now!) wonderful news about your house :T

Bestie - your cake was beautiful - hope you all had a great party!

Sorry if I've left anyone out, as I said I'm not up to date on the thread :o

Well, I seem to have done a bit of a Fudge_Cake today! Speaking of whom, has anyone heard from her since her trip to the dentist? It's unusual for her - I do hope all is well :(

My DD1 has also had her 18th birthday last week - she didn't want a big party, so she had a few friends over for drinks and eats and then they all went off to a nightclub and came back for a sleepover at 3am (and some of them had to leave early for work!) DD2 and I made her a very pretty cake but not in the same league as Bestie's :o

I've been desperately trying to organise my stash which, according to DH is now getting out of hand :o I did manage to get plenty of Palmolives ;) but have given lots away to my mum and her BF, my brother and a lovely neighbour who is a real gem. Mum was astounded when I gave her a box of stuff and told her it was all free! There were a couple of bottles of Lenor and a few other bits too, but overall it didn't cost me a penny!

I found some of the mens socks on Sunday in a store I had previously checked (big thanks to Miss Laid )
I got plenty of the 82p Highland Spring water which had a big yellow barker on it in my store, though it says it's £2 online! Is this still going?

I've done really well with wombles lately (I posted some of the best comparisons yesterday) and have managed quite a few meals just using Price Check vouchers :T Very handy if your store isn't so cheap at whoopsie time! I even wombled some conditional spend vouchers for the first time, though most of them were out of date :(

I got the £3 off £10 DM fruit & veg voucher last week too which came in handy for the weekend :D and also the Dwell voucher though not used it yet - is it now a conditional spend voucher for everybody? If so I don't think I'll bother :(

I finally found the Price Flop leaflets over the weekend but I'm so annoyed that my local still do not have them displayed. With the last lot they didn't put out the stand and just had a very small pile on the CS desk! (Though to be honest I'm not sure how many of these I will use as we have so much food in the house :o)

And finally - I got my bank balance at the beginning of May and for the first time since Christmas, I wasn't in the red after my CC direct debit came out :j:j:j:j:j

I have saved so much money since I started reading this thread so a big THANK YOU to everyone who contributes :A:A:A:A:A:A

Yeah. The 'big cheese' and HC did have a laugh at amount of money he got for the amount of cans. But if you have any copper its a different matter I believe...
