Just tried the Tilda long grain rice ( I normally have wholegrain) and found it to be very gloopy and starchy during cooking:eek:

anyone else found this? I certainly wouldn't pay £3.99 a kilo for this, very overpriced...

tilda rive have a lot of starch powdercoating the grains. yes- washing it as qoc suggested will make it less starch and gluggy.

wash in sieve or rinse for 2-3 times if in pot. then cook as usual. :)

i wash all my rice as a general rule anyway.

Did a big mr t shop, not sure how I did in the world of elite, advice appreciated!

    £125.34 b4 multibuys £27.84 = £97.50 - coupons moneycard and 1 price check total to pay £61.90 ...
it would have been £5 less but SA wouldn't let me use two price checks.

I'd say you did pretty darn good , long may it continue .

Well done you!! Enjoy your new laptop! :D
I treated myself a little earlier than you did - it's been 2.5 weeks for me and today my Amazon Kindle Touch arrived! :j

A quick question for all those who quit.... when did your taste start to change? The last few days things have been tasting strange to me and I wondered if my taste might be starting to return or is that too soon?

I read that you taste improves/gets better! I found that things taste bland and I needed stronger flavours!!

Sorry missed your post tigerwhite was out trying to find cheap butter and icecream but no luck:(.I just open the tin and eat them cold most of the time they dont reach the plate with the salad and new potatoes ,and they make a nice change as my diet has had a lot of chocolate in it :D

yes, I eat them on there own with just a bit of pepper or add them to a salad for lunch, makes a quick (cheap)healthy snack!:D

Thank you so much 4p, I took an age working it out and was stumped when a few items were out of stock and had to rework on the spot, but I was so chuffed that I wanted to be sure that it was ok. I cannot even think how much money I have wasted over the years.

Honestly guys thank you isn't enough I'm so grateful for your help
