Just found out that I have been defrauded for £3500 by the scam Fell for it line hook and sinker. If only I had checked with MSE. Surely Gumtree should take action re this bunch of criminals .
The name KIm NOwak and gbautotrader should ring alert bells for others. Sadly its too late for me

sorry to hear of your misfortune.I too contacted the fraud offices of both Clydesdale and Barclays banks. CB totally unhelpful "its your own fault" Barclays a wee bit more suportive.
I hope no other person falls for this.
Cannot understand why gumtree not flag this up
How these scum sleep at night

what can we do!!!!!

its so frustrating and ive made an appointment with bank manager tomorrow, jst to know that i have tried my best.

Try and stay positive, i know it is hard, and it makes you paranoid, it affects everyone around you, they are just low-life scummy !!!!!!!s!!!
• Dear all

pulling all this together. I remembered that I had earlier received 2 e mails claiming to be from customer support at Gumtree recommending that as a new user a top tip is to use gbautotrader.com broker company, The web address I received the e mails fromwas notification@gumtree.com naturally pulling me into the trap.
Obviously when the crooked seller raised the issue of using this safe manner I fell for it.

Surely Gumtree cannot allow the misuse of its name

Please do not use this so called brokers firm no matter hwho the recommendation came from

Its the way email works and your security settings. Gumtree can do nothing about it. I can put an asp script together bouncing emails from a relay server in Poland in 2 minutes and make it appear to come from aanyone I like. If your email client isn't set right or you like to read junk mail then it's far too easy to forge.
