That site is going to be down in the next few days hopefully.

My friends at 419eater.com have found that the staff photos came from here

    http://www.besseges-vtf.co.uk/sales_team.htm

And the about us text is copied from another fraudulant website.

Good job asking about it Boon

Edit do you have any emails from the guy? If so could you send his email address and a link to the advert via pm please.
  • I'm am, in an annoyed way impressed to the lengths that criminals are going to to scam people these days. .

Beats the hell out of days work i suppose, especially when this type of deception seems to go unpunished.

What's involved, a few hours in front of a computer sitting in the sun sipping Champers and netting several thousand pounds per hour for it over time, thats better than some politicians are on, but without their gold plated pension and expense account.

    SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

    Why?
-the domain name ukautotraders.co.uk was only registered on 16th March 2012
-it is registered to a private individual, not a company
-the website itself is hosted on warez-host.com, which does not sound like a provider used by trustworthy companies

    [according to http://webwhois.nic.uk/cgi-bin/webwhois.cgi?wvw7yesk=3hryr4hby3&wquery=ukautotraders.co.uk&submit=Lookup ]

I would report it here http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

I have just had the same scam involving a good car this time an Audi a6. Same story the seller has relocated to Ireland for work and is willing to drive the car over to London. I was ready to go ahead and do this ukautotraders brokeridge business but my wife made me check them through you. Thank you for saving me a lot of money. Vega. By the way the name the "seller" used was Adam Nowak. E mail nowak76@hotmail.co.uk

The site has now been killed so hopefully it will stop a few people getting caught out by this.

Well done Vega always check these companies out before doing anything like this.

For anyone finding this in future good places to check are the forums on escrow-fraud.com or scamwarners.com both of which have people with experience of identifying fakes sites. Remember if it seems to good to be true it probably is.

When I open up the website I get the following on my pc

"This web page at www.ukautotraders.co.uk has been reported as a web forgery and has been blocked based on your security preferences." and that's by Mozilla Firefox.

Looks like I posted before I read all the way to the bottom :D
  • Excellent spot on this scam.

The Ukautotrader site still comes up on my phone hope it gets taken down soon.

This is one of the most obvious scams going, a very old tried and tested IDIOT TRAP !

The scams sells you a story, not a car, the story changes and involves heart tugging sob stories and involves the delivery been messed up, the seller offering you it at greatly reduced rate for messing you about and says they will have the car delivered if you pay via the scam site.
Then the Idiot trap bit, they have some options worked out.
Those who wont pay, just pay for the delivery and pay me when the car is left with you, if you dont want it I will refund you the delivery.
So you end up waiting in all day ? what you mean there is no delivery guy ? no there is no car !
Variations have cropped up with genuine cars.
You get the bargain of a lifetime which is a real car but on cloned plates, as soon as your money is gone, round the corner walks the accomplice with a new set of cloned keys and drives it off, putting the real plates back on a few hundred yards away to avoid getting pulled up.
Then they go to the next on the list.
