    Guys,
I fell a victim to this fraud and it was only based on the below link that I thought that the gbautotrader was genuine #gumtreeblog.co.uk/stay_safe.htm#

This is an organised crime and I'm adamant that I track these people down.
I have got their Barclays bank account detail - so at least they can trace the money.

Does anyone came across this and would suggest where I shall go?can anyone help please?

No nobody can help, your money is gone, the police are not interested as its not a crime against the state.

If its a big organised crime syndicate and you do track them down what will you do?

Its hard to do anything when tied and gagged in the boot of a car on its way to the scrap metal crusher.

Or do i watch too many films?

of course it doesnt help that you dont know what they are saying
possibly go to your local friendly independent car retailer next time,we might be a little dearer but we do let you go home once we have your money:)

gbautotrader.co.uk reported as abuse to the registrar today

The registrar won't take any action because "I haven't provided enough evidence" !!!!!!??

Can anyone who has been scammed please report it directly to http://www.publicdomainregistry.com/report-abuse/ with extra information about the crime eg; police force and date reported

It just goes to show what lengths the scammers will go to, to get their hands on your money. They have put up a fake page (looking just like the Gumtree website) falsely recommending the scam site. This is not the real Gumtree website: http://gumtreeblog.co.uk/stay_safe.htm

The genuine Gumtree blog is here: http://blog.gumtree.com/making-gumtree-safe-for-buyers-and-sellers/

The gbautotrader.co.uk site does seem to have been taken down now. Beware though as it will soon be back up, just on a different domain.

    Thanks,
    I have reported it.

By the way I have reported it the police last week and they are going to trace the barclays account which I have sent the money too. Can anyone look up and trace in what name and address the domain gbautotrader.co.uk was registered to?

It is highly likely that the name and address is false.
