Been refunded too much - what happens?

If they charge me too little for something, no, I'm not going to say anything, and I don't think I'm alone.
If I'm refunded more than I'm owned then its upto them to ask for the appropriate money back & (possibly) prove that they have refunded me too much.
Take that as you will. This is me. I'm not going to change.
[Secondly, I do remember buying a £10 top up voucher for my phone via one of those plastic card things in a mobile phone store. I found out later they had given me £50 instead. Do you really expect me to go back to the shop and say "You have given me too much credit; please charge me for the extra £40 ? "]
I think going by what sort of person you have portrayed yourself as I would not expect you to do the right thing that is for sure.
Anyway finished with this thread it is just going around in circles.........

Interesting that the 90% consensus of this board is to notify them and pay it back. Wonder what the real life stats would be.
Personally I would put their money aside (in another account) so i could safely pay them back when they work out their mistake.
No need to be any more helpful than that.0 -

I completely agree, pretty much said the same thing, but it seems most people on here don't and think you should instantly run back to the shop and insist on them correcting the mistake.
I think they are more like to be on our side to be honest - happily pay back any over payment but unlikely to go running back to the shop to inform them.Wonder what the real life stats would be.0
