I've always found it a bit cheeky to ask someone to be a bridesmaid then make them pay for their own dress. I paid for my bridesmaid's dress and shoes as a matter of principle. Plus it meant she had less of a say what she wore because she wasn't paying!!!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

Yes I quite agree, but I was told if I wanted them to be bridesmaids then I would have to buy their dresses.
You would have thought that if that was the situation you would at least choose something more reasonable, they would have been a 1/3 of the price at bh$ for very similar dresses. However I was told his wife-to-be had picked those and that was that! I got no say at all.
I didn't want the girls to miss out on being bridesmaids but we are very bitter about it.Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53

I paid for my bridesmaids dresses too and they weren't cheap as they were all adults and 2 had to altered to fit.
But megela, I hope they enjoyed being bridesmaids and made the most of the money you spent (maybe you can e-bay them later if you don't intend to keep them).

I did mean to say that they had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It is something they will remember forever.
My replacement eco washing balls arrived yesterday, so they are now in use. Still not sure how effective they'll be on DHs work clothes though.
Have booked next years holiday, a 10 day cruise around Northern Europe with MSC Cruises. We've always fancied a cruise but not the fancy dressing up involved. This is family friendly and a bit more down to earth. Cost for 10days next August for all 4 - £1788. Incudes all meals and entertainment. Not drinks or excursions - but we're not big drinkers anyway.
Had considered renting a villa in Spain/Portugal, but with flights it would've been dearer. Then there's still food, eating out, cleaning up etc.
We'd decided we'd have a 'big' holiday next year. Just don't want too big a cost!! We've been away in this country for the last few years. Looking forward to it. Saving £175 per month til then to pay for it. But we'll all need new clothes as we haven't really bought anything new for summer for a couple of years.

Total interest added for August £295.63. The offset made a difference of over £60!
Mortgage now stands at £10875.20. Have joined the MFiT take 3 challenge and have a starting figure of £107k so need to be down to this by 12/12/12.
Have made a target for 12/12/15 of £80k. Worked this out by taking my original personal short term target of £86k (original mortgage amount before re-mortgaging) by April 2015, then challenging myself to reduce it by another £6k by end of year.
By then i'll be 3.5years into my 10 year end target.
£80 OPs needed for next month off.

That reminds me - got chicken carcasses in the freezer for making soup. Must get them out and plonk them in the slow cooker.

Have OPd £20 earnt from 'old' job last week.
Have set myself a challenge of earning/Oping £80 over and above standard £300 this month. So £20/£80 achieved. £80 will knock another month of end target.
Prefer to make these OPs from extra money earned from overtime, surveys, cashback etc. If I haven't had it don't miss it.
Also trying to loose weight and tone up for holiday next year. So set myself a new challenge of visiting gym 10 times this month. Most months I only manage 6/7.
Went Monday evening & last night so 2/10.
Daren't weigh myself, if I do I then end of weighing myself twice a day and getting very depressed when scales don't move. Will go on how clothes feel.Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53

Claimed £5.02 via PP from OP+, and £3 *rgos voucher from gfk. Both will be OPd when they arrive.
Made HM garlic bread with dough made in breadmaker. Delicious. Also tried to make naan bread with leftovers, but they puffed up too much - should I have pricked them maybe?
Friends and their kids coming for dinner tomorrow. Difficult trying to think of something everyone will eat. Making spag bol with more HM garlic bread, along with HM profiteroles for pudding. Haven't made these for years so hope they'll be OK. Also not too expensive a menu either so hopefully still come in under grocery budget.
Any money saved from grocery budget will now be saved in the 'holiday clothes' pot.Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53
