Looking for help from those with an Asperger partner.

I have asperger's & from my point of view most of the relationship problems i've encountered are from me misinterpreting what they are saying/mean & visa versa.

I also get very upset when people don't do what they say they are going to do & see it a telling lies.

I find being in a relationship with someone who doesn't have or understand asperger's properly very difficult but can appreciate that it is just as difficult for the non aspie too.

My son has Aspergers and I have found it very difficult to read some of this thread,
I accept that a lot of behaviours can be "learnt" but to understand that fully it helps to know it may take many attempts before it eventually registers. For instance I had to explain to him several times that walking around the house in his underwear in front of his siblings or telling them that "they didn't half need to brush their teeth" was not nice or appropriate.It was frustrating that he didn't pick it up first time but when he eventually did it meant so much to us.
I really adore the person he is -with all his "faults"and would not have him any other way.
