Well in my efforts to track our money more, I realised I'd miscalculated our savings totals and find myself 1170 up which is a total bonus.. I've reallocated around our different accounts and put most of it in our emergency fund but that was a nice surprise today. I've decided I'm going to write her every day next year as far as I can and do something every day to tackle / reduce and manage our finances..

Would love to have some support along the way.

And after saying I'd write everyday I pop in here nearly three months later.

Things have been busy.. DH job wobbled and still is at the moment, though we've been told he will be ok, we can't relax till the contract is in our hands.

I just need to chart our progress and need somewhere that'll make me think twice spending money we don't have. Starting a diet tomorrow in the hope of losing pounds as well.

Promise to be in at least weekly from now on..

    Hey there!

You popping in on my diary has given me kick up butt to start posting again so hopefully me posting on yours will do likewise ;-)

Well done on clearing your debts. It's a hard slog but it'll be worth it once we finally pay that last penny off!!!

Good luck on the weight loss - I too need to lose a few lbs. A stone and i'd be happy.

Have subscribed. Look forward to that next update....

Yet again, I've been AWOL..and spending more than I should whilst doing it.

For everything on my agenda, debt freeness, weight loss and life in general overhaul, it isn't going to happen if I'm not tracking so no more excuses now.

    This weekend I

    1) will update my debt totals and be a LOT more accountable for what I spend.

    2) start my diet(!)

    3) decide on my targets from now till end of June

    4) do a menu plan for the next four weeks

I will be updating regular now, I want the debt gone,I want the weight gone and I want my life back on track.

Debt totals updated. I'm nearly at £10k owing. Will be really happy to get below that figure. Hopefully within the next month

Morning all.. Well today is about getting my bank stuff sorted. Need to update all my account totals and start a log of our account spending. Once the DDs have gone out, there isn't much or to buy, but a few bits and pieces do get bought out of there.

Apart from that, ironing awaits. :-(

Wow! Being under the 10k mark will be amazing. I can't wait to reach that. Well done you :-) xx
  • I've just read your whole diary - £10000 is such an achievement from £60000 - Im tired from just reading it -you should be extremely proud of yourself - well done!!!

Thanks pretty please and choc addict. I can't wait to get to four figures instead of five!

Well a headache that lingered all day saw off much doing yesterday, though I did do some ironing.

So today I will get the finances sorted, finish the ironing and get ready for going back to work tomorrow. I love having school Hols off but don't like going back after lots of lovely time off. X

    So an update!

    1) will update my debt totals and be a LOT more accountable for what I spend.

Totals updated. Finances reconciled. Worst being I found out the £1170 I thought I'd miscalculated wasn't a miscalculation.. So I've had to adjust my totals down. Emergency fund standing at £3k

    2) start my diet(!)

Done. I want to lose 4 stone, so that's 56 pounds and counting, aiming for half a stone each month and will weigh in on Sundays. Trying to stay off the scales till then.

    3) decide on my targets from now till end of June

Done, kind of in that I need to restructure the littlies savings and. Move them into better paying accounts. I've also decided I need to up my savings as much as possible. Start savings £1 coins again. But in general, just plan to stay on track watching the pennies till then.

    4) do a menu plan for the next four weeks

Done. Determined to stick within our £50 a week food budget so this will help that.

Trying to find a spending app I like so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be fab.

Have a great day all s
