Well I'm sorry but a site of this size needs to be moderated! Certain users are a prime example of why we need more moderators!
And if something isn't done about it soon! I don't think I will stay. Why should I use this site only to find people who are abusive and ignorant to others!0 -
its strange that the 2 or 3 most contentious threads (at the moment) all involve comments made by the same person.....!
normally i like a discussion as much as the next person, but to have it with someone who is hell bent on ignoring what others say, then to try and force their own thoughts/beliefs, with no respect for others or whether they are factually correct or not.
isnt that called indoctrination......
hence why i dont normally bother getting involved......!smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

One of the lovely advantages of owning 100% of the site is I DO make the rules. ;D
SO let me make this simple
1. This is a 'report an abuse' moderation system, if you don't report it, it won't be dealt with ,please don't assume "they must've seen it" we probably haven't there are thousands of posts a day.
2. Being rude is unnacceptible, what makes this site succesful is it saves people money. The discussion thread and arms are 'added extras' they are not core.
This is not a 'freedom of speech site' it's a money saving site. Everything else is secondary, if the flow is disrupted by rude or abusive people, then ultimately i will block them.
I don't mean to be bolshy, but we don't have the resources for subtle moderation. Those who simply cause 'discontent' in the non-money saving sections of the site are not helping, and we don't have the time to nurse maid things better, so after a warning the decision is now plain, if it continues , people will have to leave.
