Got mine and renewed last week and for the first time ever received a payment of just over £400 (which I wasnt expecting) so I am very happy. Now I am living on a bursary this is almost a whole month's money to me, and all sorted in a week. Must have beaten the rush!0

Apparently they come out in either a white or brown envelope. Does anyone know what the difference with that is?
Don't think that's true as I am not on benefits but received mine at beg of April!0 -
Hi, I have a question if anyone can help me please.
We have just been getting the standard £10+ a week as my daughter is at college. 4 weeks before the end of the tax year I noticed on my DH's payslip that he had earned more than his last years amount, so I sent them a letter, with the payslip to show this, and gave them an estimate of how much he would earn this year which will be over the 26k.
So, they put down the payment by £3 a wk, then it stopped altogether on 2nd April. Even though we're not entitled anymore, will they just leave it at that, or will they still send a renewal form to fill in?

I ve had letter too. Last April I contacted them and the CB office to confirm my daughter would be doing her A Levels and hen uni. CB stopped payment end of August. I noticed a few weeks later that I was still getting the ten pound and a bit into my current account so immediately rang them. They stopped the claim and now I have had letter to say I owe them 8 weeks money (approx £83) . I have sent a letter off telling them I rang them and they said it would automatically stop end of Summer (in fact the notice I got in April said £200 and something instead of the usual £545 or whatever) so I trusted them to stop it. Im hoping they say I dont have to pay it back but wont hold my breath!0

Its not that people are "panicing" as such. Its more a case of people wanting their payments between April and when they actually DO renew to be correct!
Some people are aware that the provisional payments being made to them since 6th April are not right and they hope to renew early to avoid an over payment.
Others are owed potential payments which they will only receive once their renewal has been done.
To some people this potential payment is substantial and they may well be waiting on the money to put to good use!The loopy one has gone :j0 -

Hi Candy,
I'm not 100% sure but I think they may still send a renewal form out for you to complete just to make sure they had the correct info for 11/12 for you.
I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along to give you the correct advice soon.

hi i would say you will still get one as they are also used to finalise the previous years claim, not just to renew for the following year, if that makes sense. so they i wouldve thought they will send one to make sure that there is no under or over payment.0
