Oooh get me, posting a recipe
These are from Nigellas Domestic Goddess book:
125ml milk
85ml veg oil plus more for greasing
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
200g S.R. flour
100g caster sugar
12 teaspoons strawberry jam
100g unsalted butter
150 granulated sugar
1 incredibly well-greased or silicon mini muffin pan
Preheat oven to 190C/Gas 5
Beat together the milk, oil, egg and vanilla extract. Stir this into the flour and caster sugar to combine (just): the lumps don't matter and if you overbeat the muffins will be tough.
Spoon the mixture into the muffin pan so that it's just under a third full. Add a dollop of jam - about the size of a fat broad bean - then top with more muffin mix.
Cook for 20 mins until the tops feel springy.
Melt the butter and lay the sugar out in a wide, shallow bowl. When the muffins are ready, carefully lift out of the pan, dip them in butter and roll in the granulated sugar.
Eat warm.
Mine is a 'normal' sized muffin pan, so the mixture made 9 full size and 3 half sized muffins. So delicious, but only for treats!!
I made the donuts today, thanks for the recipe. DS loved them.

At Mr T's today there was some people asking for donations to a food bank that has been recently been set up locally. I got some own label biscuits, mushy peas, pasta sauce and a tin of soup, it only cost around a £1. I am going to have to be very creative over the next couple of weeks if I am going to stay within my budget. Tonights meal was sausages, spring onions, mushrooms, chorizo and potatoes all browned off then covered in a jar of pasta sauce and put in the oven for 20 minutes.Jan GC £300/£296 :j March GC £375/£336:j

What a great idea and I must say Cool Nanna you made a great contribution for only a pound. Sure this will be well appreciated by people receiving it. God Bless you.Slimming World at target0 -

Not really beenn following for the last few days! Been very busy sorting house out and giving my finances a total re-vamp!
Anyways OH went to the shop to get some bits and pieces the other day. But he threw the receipt away  He thinks it was around the £10 mark, so I'll say £12 just in case! Don't think he really gets the point in budgeting! He's absolutely useless when it comes to household stuff! Do you know I found Important documents in the bin?? What a telling off he gotso now he is not allowed to throw any letters or docs away until I've given my OK :rotfl:

Am really looking forward to doing this challenge again and have really enjoyed reading all your tips and recipes.

Hello and welcome! And, congratulations! I had SPD, so I feel your pain... Good idea to have a chair in the kitchen. Make sure you get home del too, or get your oh to get stuff. Take care.xCool_Nanna wrote: »At Mr T's today there was some people asking for donations to a food bank that has been recently been set up locally. Well done - no matter how badly off we all think we are, there are so many others who dream of being in our positions.HappyTorty wrote: »Sorry! Really needed that rant with people who (I hope) understand!

I don't often benefit from whoopsies but last night I did the shopping on the way home from dropping DS at his gig and whizzed round Waitflower. Now normally I bake our bread but we have been so busy getting ready for opening our garden this weekend that I stopped to buy some and the pain rustique rolls were 9p instead of 49p each.
That was great but when I went through my receipt this evening the till also operated the offer of 3 for 1.20 and removed 27p for 3, twice. So my 9p each rolls were free. Now that's my kind of reduction!
Marvellous:T:T:T
Hope everyone is enjoying the improved weather this weekend. I am off for a bath to stop the bits aching too much tomorrow!
All the best

Welcome back Little Miss Moneysaver, Welcome to Soworried and Bonglecat.
Congrats Save Dosh on clearing even a little space in the cupboards. Sometimes i think its more of a reassurance thing to try and get my brain round. I find it so difficult letting my stocks run low.
Way to go Mumofthetwins on such great savings last month, I hope you enjoyed the feeling of putting that money towards something else to enjoy.
