Hi all - happy bank holiday!:)
B&W Bunny - I love your sig! I would get distracted by something sparkly too:rotfl:
I'm hoping for a NSD today, as I'm not planning on going anywhere except to see my dad (only 5 mins away). We may need milk, though, so a small detour to Mr M may be necessary!
I'm planning on doing some baking later, hopefully a Victoria sponge and some of Tink's hobnobs if I've got all the ingredients. I've also got some of last years rhubarb in the freezer, so might have a go at a crumble to freeze for puddings later in the week.
Have a lovely day, everyone, and hugs to those who need them

My NSD was distracted by the Portmeirion online
sale!!
Went to Stoke years ago when DD's were tiddlers and found a big shop selling seconds, bought loads, but broken it all over the years.......wonder if thats the same shop others have been
to yesterday???
Not planning on going out today so hopefully no more spends....
Have to try and sort bedroom so I can move back in there, have already moved crates and crates of craft supplies, stopped for some paper stroking and ooo-ahhhhng at pretty glittery scrapbooking stuff - MUST stop looking and work harder!
Today I am planning to single handedly move a wardrobe into an alcove.....Mmmmmm.......time will tell :rotfl:
Will have weetabix or greek yog and granola for brekkie at some point.
Have defrosted some YS 95p chicken thighs which I will marinate in BBQ sauce for lunch.
Never had time to cook yesterdays planned tea, so steak and veggie chow mein and rice on todays menu for tea.
Hope everyone elses BH Monday looks brighter and sunnier than mine does down here!0 -

I think I probably have enough of it to start my own shop :rotfl:still managed to spend around £65 though. In my defence some of it was for pressies. the rest was items with unusual motifs on it - essential for a collector:Dchelseabun wrote: »Hi all - happy bank holiday!:)

Good luck with your target! :T
I read the thread for ages before joining in last month, but I have found actually posting EVERY day has made me feel much more accountable and really helped me think about groceries, cooking and budgeting......much more than when I was just reading0 -
Thanks for all your good wishes..... the one man toilet roll userupper is much better and thinks he may manage some HM soup today!

Spending Vs Saving. Welcome and may I suggest you also make a list of meals you can make with what you already have in, if you get stuck for ideas post the ingrediants and someone will be able to suggest a meal.
You might also find it helpful to keep a daily figure in mind, you have 24 days to cover and 60 pound so thats 2.50 a day, very doable.Slimming World at target0 -

Glad your OH is feeling better Kylie. Thanks for the heads up - I might just have to do an appr*ved foods order if the flour is that cheap! That's amazing value! We use a bm and make a loaf every other day. Most of the time it's half and half wholemeal and white, but I'm running out of w'meal! Good timing!:T0 -
Hoping for a NSD day today, after a small spend yesterday, treating DD1 and myself to a cuppa in the garden centre. Staying home and catching up with washing, ironing and balancing the bank account!
Will update sig with final total for the week.
Welcome to Spending Vs Saving - have a read of the first page of the thread - it explains how this works. I haven't been doing this very long either and spent ages just reading the posts, but everyone is very friendly here and there's always someone around to help.
Kylie - glad to hear your OH is much better - sorry about the dog, but I've never had one so I'm not much use with advice on that one!
fozziebeartoo - I've just got my wool supplies down to three big bags, but my other craft stuff is out of control! The shelf collapsed 2 weeks ago and I haven't had the courage to look in the cupboard and sort it out yet.2025 Fashion on the ration

Happy Bank Holiday everyone!
Went to MrT with DD and DS2 today. DS2 had homework which included a scavenger hunt in a supermarket, so they went off together, writing down 3 items from each department (frozen, dairy, dried foods etc.). It was great because then I could shop in peace
Some kind soul left their £5 off when you spend £80 voucher in the trolley that DD fetched for me. It was running out today, so I'm assuming it was left on purpose for someone to find :A
Total bill came to £97.01. I handed the coupon over and to my suprise the till took £10 off! £16 of the total was $kylander toys - one for DS2 and one for a present, so those come off of the total. I also spent £35.57 from the 2nd purse on stock. Overall spend from the grocery budget of £35.42 so very happy with that. 2nd purse is now in the red again by £21 odd but should be back level by the end of the week
Shouldn't need much else this week, except for milk and perhaps some veg.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0
