Mr F got the salmon out for Friday's dinner yesterday as we needed the freezer space. :) Tonight Mr F got out the chicken for Saturday's dinner - so he could fit in tonight's baking.

I've been having to empty my freezer to fit more in too. I feel there's a lesson to learn here, I just can't put my finger on it... ;)

NSD today - that's 3 out of 3 days so far! I'm really happy with this, as it was my aim to last until Sat before shopping, and I may actually manage it!

Just finished making tomorrow's dinner. I did a tuna pasta salad type thing, which I'll keep in the fridge at work, then dd will eat while ds swimming, and ds will eat in the car on the way to the theatre! (Or at home if he's not hungry then.)

Fed my friend tonight in return for her babysitting for me. I said she could have anything she wanted that was in the house, and told her there was some lo turkey bolognese, which she said she fancied. I came home to find she'd had 2 slices of toast with some grated cheese! Cheap guest! I now have my dinner sorted for tomorrow, as I can have the last of the lo turkey bolognese.

Phew, it's been a hard week! Still, Friday tomorrow, and I'm soooo looking forward to the weekend.

    Night all,

I made a loaf in the BM tonight - I think my machine - 3 months past the guarantee date - is playing up. My last one of the same make went the same way - but was under guarantee so was replaced. I will not get the same model again!
I made a syrup cake while the oven was on.

    That cake looks amazing Florenceem!

I managed another NSD today - that's two in a row for me. Dinner was the left over pesto pasta dish from yesterday.

Tomorrow I am going out for an afternoon tea treat with a voucher so I won't be cooking anything for dinner. I will buy in some nice bread for a slice for supper.

I also need to get some more flavoured water. I am getting sick of humfing these bottles in but as I don't drink alcohol, tea, coffee and limit my coke zero intake - the options are very restrictive.

Anyone tried making toad in the hole which is freezerable? I'm thinking tin foil tray, oil, frozen veggie sausage and batter mix, refreeze and cook from
    frozen. Any tips and suggestions?

My first no spend day for May was yesterday but I'm going to be away this weekend so I doubt I will have another for a while.

I've settled on a system for accounting for my overall spending, which is going to change my food totals I've posted so far, but I think it will help me out better in the long run. I will update my totals shortly.

    Good morning and happy friday!!

thankfully all feeling slightly better today but kids still off school as training day. Gonna have to get out though or i'll go bonkers! Friday is typically a spendy day in the jedi household as it is the first day of the weekend and we get sweets & treats for the kids and beer & wine for mummy and daddy. Gonna try and cut back with this as now included in grocery budget. Co-0p has an offer for 20 carlsberg @ £12 which works out at 60p a can. I am wondering if i could buy the box and then 'hide' the rest til next week? Going to try....

Dinner tonight is hm curry yum yum and have all the ingredients for jam donught muffins so gonna give them a try too.

    have a nice day

Morning all, cake looks fab Mrs F. I may try that at the weekend if you could post the recipe please. I would hate for my breadmaker to breakdown, its approx 8 years so i think i should starting putting a bit of money aside to replace it, should the worse happen. not that its giving any trouble but best to be prepared. A no grocery spend for me today but its my nephews birthday so we are off out for a family meal, not oh as he is working. It will cost £18 if the boys have a pudding. Best wishes to all.

The cake looks really light and moist, Florenceem.

That'd go nice with a brew. What time should I come round?;)

The plan today is just some mini tarts for supper. Might make a joblot as I am going over to my folks' tomorrow.

I do need sugar (I have preserving sugar and icing sugar in but they dont count;)) but I have a JTD from my last shop in Ts that needs using up so will get the big bag with this so it won't affect my spend.

New challenge again tomorrow. I MUST keep within budget next week as I went over this week.

Will get the Lidl weekend offers in. The cheese one is great for stocking up on.

Morrison's have 20x Youngs fish fingers at the moment for 99p.
They are great on butties with some shredded iceberg lettuce and mayo;)
Limit of 3 packs per customer though apparently.

    jedi,
In that case "May the fourth be with you" - :rotfl:to resist that urge!

I'm reliably informed it is Star Wars day (by my DS) and I've been dying to say that to someone. Sorry, couldn't resist it :) Your name made it inevitable...
