Slinking back as well after a long term absence. It is ridiculous (to borrow ds1's favourite word) how much we spend when I don't keep track. Can you put me down for £350 for the month although I'm hoping to get it closer to £300 as we have plenty in.

Spent £16.68 in MrT today - part of that for ds2's Home ec exam - lamb koftas, so I've told him to bring them home for packed lunches the next day!!

I also defrosted the small freezer - the door was frozen shut so have found some more stuff in there to use up. I also have £54 to pay for the month for my veggies and a doz eggs each week that are delivered so will add that to the total now.

Made 2 of D&DD's apple braids yesterday - great way to fill up teenagers, especially if you sneak some wholemeal flour in.

    Welcome back Rosieben!

    Congrats sallybunny!

We spent £1.47 today, on a half price frijj and three packs of cheapo scotch pancakes. DD has decided these are her fave breakfast, and eats them really quickly, so I figure that's a good thing! The children worked out how much it was goign to be (60p and 3x29p!) and got out the money from my purse, working out how much change we'd get too. Awesome!

Have rounded up my April spends, as I'm so appalled! Aiming for £40 for May. I have so much stuff in, that this should be easily achievable, but in practice, I know that I fall for so many of the gimicks and spend more than I need to. This month, my aim is to run in, run round, and run out!! (Obviously paying...)

Tomorrow is traditionally my veg-round-a-sm day, as the ch are with their dad, so I will NOT go to a sm tom. I don't need anything, and quite frankly, there's nowhere to put anything anyway! Weds Thurs and Fri will be nsds as dd is in a show at the theatre, and I have to ferry her round. Sat will prob be a spend, as we have to buy a present for a party ds is going to, and I shall get bread, milk, and the right amount of fruit and veg then, to save me going again on Sun. So, my hope is that I will have 1sd and 6nsds by the 7th of May...

I love 15s! I haven't made them for a year, and I'd almost forgotten about them! Have all the stuff in, may have to make them this month!!

    Night all,

Sallybunny congratulations to you and your OH :)

Well........I have attacked my budget already!! Eeeek! I was drawn to the Appr0ved Food website this morning and ordered a gazillion bags of bulghar wheat and couscous, crackers etc etc for £23 and then spent £11 in A$da as it was on my way back home and I needed bread and eggs, which thankfully I did remember to get amongst the £11 of stuff!!

Dinner tonight was pasta, pesto and leftover peas with watermelon for pud, nomnomnom.

Yay, :TWelcome back Rosieben :T- I only checked your recent posts yesterday to see if you had abandoned us but the last one said the wedding was in April - I hope it was a huge success. It's great to have you back.

    Sallybunny - Congratulations!

Pennygrabber - in your frugal month, why not try hm scotch pancakes - make a thick pancake mix (1 egg, three heaped spoonfuls of flour and enough milk to make it thick & gloopy) use SR instead of plain flour and add some "bits" like dried fruit soaked in juice. If you don't have a solid plate use a frying pan - I wipe it with a piece of oiled kitchen paper then use a serving spoon to drop the mix in the pan - when the blisters burst, turn them over and after 20-30 seconds they are ready and lovely warm for breakfast

    All the best
