A spend of 'about' £6 over the weekend by DH! He really needs more training. But he did only buy ice cream to make me feel better...we found out we're expecting DC2 on Saturday so it was a celebration too! So long as all goes well there'll be a new bunny joining us in late December!

I've spent this morning sorting out the new joint account, bill payments, spending money etc and feeling a lot more organised. The theory is that we'll spend more wisely if we have limited access to cash and can see what the other is spending money on!
    Congratulations!

Hi, trying to make sure I update an keep motivated.

spent £44.46 in MrA and £59.64 in A!di. Got a fair bit but need to make sure I don't pop to the local shop for 'extras' as, like others, think that this is where a lot of my money goes...

I also had to pay for DD1 to have school dinner today as we had nothing in AT ALL. Actually based on how empty my cupboards and fridge were, I am really glad I didn't spend more!

I didn't get any meat but we have a great butchers that sells a lot of really good meat at cheap prices so will wait to the weekend and go there.

Dinner tonight is some chicken legs I found at the bottom of the freezer yesterday, defrosted and bunged in slow cooker today. With salad and JP i think.

Ok, have a nice day everyone. congrats to all the people with babies due, almost makes me broody :D but my three will do!

    Congratulations sallybunny!

And thanks zepsgal for the link to the recipe for 15s. I always choose that when I see it when out for a treat but never knew what they were called or how to make them.

I have digestives and cherries so now debating with myself whether I can justify putting the other ingredients on next weeks' shopping list.

    Hi everyone

Just popping in to report spends at Mr T's and Wilkos today. All food, snacks and drinks for 2 weeks purchased and cleaning stuff for the whole of May.

    Total - £96.16

I will need to pop to the greengrocers for some veg but apart from that, I shouldn't need to spend anything for 2 weeks.

    Fingers crossed!

:hello: I'm back! Seems such a long time since I was here; its been a great few weeks with DS wedding and DD and family over from Oz. Its taking me a while to get my breath back and to get the house back to normal but I'm winning :D

I'll be going back through the March and April threads this week to pick up any recipes but for the sake of my addled brain :o I will put any new recipes on this (May) thread.

Hope you're all ok and winning the battle of the budget. I'll try to catch up with all the news as I go through the threads. Good luck for May :)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

    Did first shopping spent £35.52.
Not too bad and quite a few things as well, mainly packet lunch stuff and fruit and veg. Didn't need to much shopping of anything else as I have other bits of veg hiding in the fridge and plenty in the freezers.
Am making prawn and chciken curry rice and chips am actually looking forward to it. I was tempted to make a mississippi mud cake (in the slow cooker) today but might make one later in the week instead.
    Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
    Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:
